Yea, I was referring to the font palette.

In ArcaOS, it seems to be Computer-->System Setup->Appearance-->Fonts.

Looking further, I see I also get the same error about disabling caching for mmio with the ArcaOS supplied Snap, but not the older one. Though it doesn't seem to affect performance for me.

Out of curiosity, I tested on my old T42 with ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 and Pentium M 1.6Ghz
eCS with Snap build for T42, Ver 2.3, build 419.

As you can see, the ArcaOS supplied Snap was slightly faster, though this was basically a virgin install. DIVE seems consistent, eve with Panorama.

I also accidentally ran the Snap test on ArcaOS at 16 bit depth, pretty well doubled the score excepting DIVE.

Setup & Installation / Re: How do I ...?

Einar, try using the text mode LVM to fix your drive letters. I had a partition stuck on * and had to use the text mode one to fix it.
Type lvm at a command prompt, hit enter until the partition table may be corrupt messages go away and use F5 to get a physical view.

I think Rene is right. I can access it with a long random password that Louis gave us.
There are things starting to appear there, but when I tried to install a package last night, one of its dependencies wasn't there yet.
There are also packages in the Netlabs exp repository that need to be moved to release before the ArcaOS one is activated.

Applications / Re: Applications OS/2 Needs

For the official IBM compiler, punch this into your favourite search engine (tested with duckduckgo), "VisualAge C++ for OS/2 site:archive.org"

For an audio player, check out http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/apps/mmedia/jukebox/audc100.zip. Note that yo will have to collect command line programs to actually play your files, most are available on Hobbes. eg for mod players http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/h-browse.php?dir=/pub/os2/apps/mmedia/music/mod/players. You might have to fall back on FFmpeg or rather FFplay for some of the more exotic files, audiocenter should be able to drive FFplay.

Quickly testing, 7z seems to preserve symlinks. You might want to test.

Setup & Installation / Re: Shadows on the desktop stopped working

I'm trying to run xfix. The help mentions that it will display, but not actually work on a running system because WPS will overwrite any changes you make. Is there another way to run xfix on a running system?

You have to do it during boot. Yes, you have to reboot, but it is easier then going to a maintenance partition

I do have multiple backups for that very reason, but it's such a pain to shut the system down to make a manual backup off of a maintenance partition...is there a better way?

During boot, when IFX starts, hold down the shift key and choose one of the last 3 ini file backups to restore.

Looks like it'll need converting, http://addonconverter.fotokraina.com/. Let us know how it goes.

Jansson might be an easy port or it might not. Depends on the required unicode support, a weakness on our platform.

gl seems to be the deal breaker.  Don't know about jansson either. The rest we have. Have to look at it more.

Thanks for the reply Dave, Are you going to provide a 45.9.0-2 version of Seamonkey?

Yes. I hope to figure out how to make RPMs of SM and TB, which I guess will be available through the Arca Noae repository and I'll also release zips of the same code. Then it'll be on to 52ESR.

It or a later release will have to be moved to netlabs-rel for the Firefox RPM to be released. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet as the Firefox RPM seems fine though there may be some fine tuning where the program objects are put.

Be aware that public access to Netlabs exp repository is going away, Same with the Arca Noae one.
