Hello

I shared the links to vbesvga.drv at the ArcaNoae Testing mailing list. I'm hoping it can be evaluated and can be of use to other users.

Hello Dariusz

The latest version that I had found about RSync for OS/2 is 3.0.9.1 (2017-11-11)
-- http://www.warpcave.com/betas/rsync-3.0.9.1-20171111-shl.zip
or
-- https://hobbesarchive.com/Home/Download?path=/Hobbes/pub/os2/util/backup/Rsync_3-0-9-1.zip

I don't recall any release "3.1.3" port, but if you have the links let me know.

Regards

Hello

I remembered that I made a RPM installer for DataSeeker some time ago.
I want to ask Roderick if he thinks this has the qualifications to be includes in the OS2VOICE RPM.

Hello

It was basically something in the SYSTEM.INI. I replaced the one working with bad one and now I have full HD resolution on Win-OS/2 in the VM that was not working. It was an stupid error from my side of a missing [ on  "[VBESVGA.DRV]". I'm attaching is my good system.ini.

I guess it runs in 386 Enhanced mode since the Win-OS2 settings I checked (attached screenshot). KO Myung-Hun , I don't know if you recommend something else to improve any performance.

Hello
wished i was a programmer to contribute to the development of a WIFI-driver.
What about the idea to start a project to develop one together - online with the help of all who have the knowledge, time and interest - step by step. Would that be feasible?

Even that the Andi B's comments are right, I was wondering if a more dirty/non-elengant/hack aproach can be worked out to have wifi drivers with less effort. Like just focusing on some basic wifi first and maybe not fully functional first. Maybe going back the 32bits windriver wrapper idea, or focusing on some USB wifi dongles.

Setup & Installation / Re: ArcaOS 5.1.1 can't install on Acer Aspire.
« on: November 15, 2025, 05:49:18 pm »
Hello Adrian.

Like Dave said, I will also try a different USB Flash stick drive, just in case.

Are you installing ArcaOS 5.1.1 ?

Just in case, This year at Warpstock there was a good presentation about the installation logs and install diagnostics.
- https://youtu.be/sJdknnQUvzc?si=nFEL-KQF-XIPcr4f
Plus there are documentation here:
- https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/producing-diagnostic-log-files/

I would prefer to install the UEFI version to have DOS and Win-OS2 sessions working if you manage to advance with the install procedure.

General Discussion / Re: AI Coward - Where is my kernel?

Too bad it deleted the "thought process" that the AI was showing. It was kind of thinking of all the stuff that was going to require, but then it stopped, because it was not React language  ;D

Virtualization / Re: ArcaOS 5.1 on Apple Silicone

Hello, welcome fro to the forums.
I also have ArcaOS 5.1.1 working in 86box but it's rather sluggish there and wasn't as easy to install.

Just in case, there was a presentation last week at Warpstock about ArcaOS on Apple Silicon with 86Box.
You can check it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKfzZOrhxFc&t=7s

Hello Roderick

May I suggest that lSwitcher to be included in the WarpIn installers?
-- https://hobbesarchive.com/Home/Download?path=/Hobbes/pub/os2/util/wps/lSwitcher-2-94-0-0.wpi

I want to make a WarpIn installer for DataSeeker to be included.

Virtualization / Re: Win-OS/2 - Open vbesvga.drv video driver

Hello

I had problems with the latest version 0.9.4 on my current VM.
- https://github.com/PluMGMK/vbesvga.drv/releases

But I tried the same version (0.9.4) on my vanilla VM and it worked. So, I have no idea why it works on my Vanilla VM, and not on other one.

I repeated the basic install on C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM.INI
[boot]
display.drv=vbesvga.drv
386grabber=vbevmdib.3gr

[VBESVGA.DRV]
Width=1920
Height=1080
Depth=24

And I have HD resolution on full screen Win-OS2 session with the mouse that can now access all the screen. This is on my ArcaOS 5.1.1 BIOS Virtualbox VM, results may differ in different hardware.

Applications / OS2VOICE RPM - ...and MMOS2 Updater
« on: November 12, 2025, 11:24:30 pm »
Hello

At Warpstock Roderick formally announced the OS2VOICE RPM. I asked Roderick for a formal email announcement, but I can not wait for more people to try it out.

Visit: https://rpm.os2voice.org/
Include the RPM and WarpIn repository into AN Package Manager.

I want you to give me some feedback about: https://rpm.os2voice.org/warpin/release/ArcaOS_MMOS2updater-1-0-0-01.wpi
I really like it a lot, it installs MPlayer, the MIDI stuff, CODECS very easy and for me it is working great.

General Discussion / Re: Spam Bots

Hello

Thanks for the feedback.

Anubis looks interesting, and I tried out the Anubis site on ArcaOS's Firefox, Dooble and Otter.
All three browsers access the "checking you are not a bot page" and access the site fine. Firefox has an exception that didn't support the graphics, but went also to the page. I think it will work for our browsers.

But, a few days ago I had installed BadBot Protection for Joomla, (which also seems to work on our browsers) and I think it is similar, it also shows sometimes a "checking you are not a bot page" on OS2World and for the moment I haven't have issues. But let's see what happens.

Thanks for the idea David.
Thanks for the SVG Devid.

I created this quick page to remember the EDM/2 logo history.
