Setup & Installation / USB Warp 3
« on: August 02, 2020, 04:36:03 am »
What do you recommend to get USB to work on Warp 3? Is this possible?  I found one driver but all it can do is power on my devices.

Interesting. Well, I installed it correctly and it is the red box.

Is they a way to make it produce a boot log?

I think the dailog said I was supposed install Windows 3.1 and then the software to make it work with OS/2 correct? Should I reinstall it in OS/2 Dos mode?(I did a fresh install from MS-DOS)

That's my guess as well, I'll see if I can figure out how to fix it. As far as I know, I have the newest driver for both systems.

It looks like installing FixPackes is not an easy task(some people say you have to be careful about which one you install), I think I'll skip that unless I know for sure that would solve the issue. I do have "dual-boot" installed so I can get back to MS-DOS 6 to run Windows 3.1 if I want too.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I am new to OS/2, I just got a copy last week. \

Some of those links don't work but I am sure I can find what I need somewhere online.

Revision 8.182, do I need a patch?

Neither work.

Fullscreen, it's the "Magic"something driver meant for my laptop.

Typing that does load let me see the error:

Error loading PROGMAN.EXE, which could mean lots of things are wrong.

I see "Loading please wait..." my monitor then flickers a few times and I am back at the desktop. Do you know why?

Hi
Does anyone know of a driver that lets me read multisession CD-Rs?

380Z but as I said, this issue has been fixed. Thank you for your support.

I don't know, IBM/CystalAudio* something? again this is a laptop, I got drivers that work fine from here: https://thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad-Drivers/download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/ddfm/380z.html. I'm guessing if I tried using the system disks** from there I wouldn't have top temporarily disable the sound card? I love the sci-fi sounds effects in OS/2 very fun!

** I am running out of working floppy disks, a lot of mine are getting bad sectors :P.

* It does come with a Sound Blaster Pro Emulator Dos driver.

Disabling the sound card fixed the issue.

I tried that "mod" and now I get a blank screen(well I did delete the logo) and my hard disk light stays on forever.  This is NOT an upgrade I had MS-DOS 6 and Windows 3.1 on the Fat(I think it's Fat and NOT Fat32) drive before.(and FreeDos before that). This is a sort of eraish-appropriate laptop(IMB Thinkpad 380Z).

UPDATE: Riveted back to the old Disk 1 from an image I took before modifying it.

UPDATE#2: Went to a command prompt though the installer and checked the contents of disk2(which is the one where it freezes, disk2 seems to be ok). Also does not matter if I do the advanced or basic install.

UPADTE#3: Turns out that "mod" is for version 4 and I have version 3, so that's no good.

UPDATE#4: OS/2 has NOT been installed and now their is no sound in DOS, I have seen this before and it's when an OS incorrectly tries to initialize the sound card, so I guess setup was tying to probe hardware and failed, which also often leads to freezing. Latter, I'll try disabling the sound card for now and see if that works. I'll report back here after trying that.
