Hi Martin,

Prefer search for HMC/SE or HMC (add OS/2 due newest HMC is linux based system)
Here you can find some screenshots

There is a ticket in the ArcaOS bug tracker and it appears the issue may have been fixed.

I didn't find the ticket nor did I get any fixes... !
Do you have more information please ?

Be carefull openning BIGICONS folder as icon view, there is a png issue making storage not released and after a while, the system may hung and crash

Networking / Re: Fastest tcp/ip throughput in OS/2?
« on: November 15, 2018, 12:44:05 pm »
MMRE uses ""Receive Lookahead" transfer mode to the protocol while R8169.OS2 uses "ReceiveChain" transfer mode
May be this could impact max speed...

Do you have Injoy firewall ?
If yes, get the latest driver from them (they found and rewrote the driver after I opened a ticket to them), it resolved my speed problem under ArcaOS.
Which firefow build do you use ?
Try to use a direct speedtest without firefox (I think you already did it).

You can give a try to the Realtek 8139C + / 8169 / 8169S driver too which If I did well understand uses a more "optimized process" than MMRE.

Applications / Re: Virtualaddresslimit and Disk Free space, Questions
« on: November 09, 2018, 12:33:55 am »
All disk (new) have a size base on official unit base on a classic mathemat value  1000 B for 1 KB and so on... (like 1 Kg etc...)
At origin due to binary mode, 1 KB was 1024 bytes and then it was renamed to KiB for kilo binary bytes and so on (both can be used but to have a bigger value and space on a disk, it is more interesting to use MB or GB instead of MiB or GiB as DAve wrote, marketing)

1 GiB = 1024 MiB = 1024 x 1024 KiB = 1024 x 1024 x 1024 Bytes
1 GiB = 1024 MiB =  1,048,576 KiB = 1,073,741,824 Bytes

Why 1024 ?
binary >  1024 - 512 - 256 - 128 - 64 - 32 - 16 - 8 - 4 - 2 - 1

Asking all people here again. Any chance to get foo2hbpl2 in OS/2 CUPS? Any chance to have  Xerox Workcentre 6015NI printing from OS/2? Even Minolta Magicolor was included. Why not HBPL printers supported by foo2hbpl2?

Rene Senger

Did you try using xerox cups driver ?

Applications / Re: AOS RAM Disk
« on: September 26, 2018, 12:36:58 am »
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.  I believe one needs the OS/4 kernel and the QSINIT loader to utilized RAM above 4 GB.

ArcaOS comes with a modified QSINIT as os2ldr, which helps with memory holes that the IBM os2ldr can't handle and gives access to the high memory through PAE.

I have 16GiB and 12GiB ram are used as RAM disk

Which audio driver did you install ?
In my case, the audio driver had two adapters enabled and to make it work, I had to add a switch
Here is how I made audio work:
DEVICE=C:\MMOS2\UNIAUD32.SYS /A:1

« on: September 17, 2018, 11:33:49 pm »
Hello Remy,

It's under the experimental

Then I have to wait until it is official.
No expérimental with ArcaOS on a unique system which is production system.

Any idea if it will be made available as official ?

Hi Paul,

The older one could start but no socket connection while this one doesn't start here despite having a torrc file presnt:
Sep 17 10:48:44.829 [notice] Configuration file "/tor/etc/tor/torrc" not present
, using reasonable defaults.
A non-recoverable error occurred.  The process ended.

Cheers
Remy
