Programming / Re: A clock in WPS - Educational Project
« on: May 21, 2020, 12:36:15 am »
Thanks for the feedback.
When compiling, use:  "sc -r -S128000 -C128000 <file>"
It worked with this command to generate the .c, .h and .ih file.

One other thing... since this project isn't associated with XWP, it would be better to use a different prefix for its files and classes. Perhaps "MIClock" would be more appropriate (especially in Spanish).
Yes, I will change it. For this thread I'm going to keep it as XWPClock, but I think if I wrote some article I will rename it to SWPCLOCK. (S = Sample).

If you want to generate C++ headers and source files you do this:
sc.exe -C200000 -S200000 -scx;xh;xih xwpclock.idl
Yes, I want to go the C++ way.

I'm getting this error:
Code: [Select]
"xwpclock.idl", line 156: fatal error: Cannot load emitcx.

I guess I'm missing something on the libpaths?

Hi.
I love all the old stuff, except for the old hard drives and old noisy fans, so I try to replace them for modern equivalents.

I know that there are people that like to have old hardware exactly as it was available years ago (I watch LGR YouTubes), but I have a IDE-2-SDcard adapter on my old Aptiva and it is great and fast. Thanks to that the HDD no longer sound like a pop-corn machine anymore.

Hi

I had moved to an archive list the older than 2015 motherboards.
https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/List_of_Motherboards

If I get more more motherboard reports I will be moving 2015 to the archive. It feels so sad to have a short list  :'(

Hi Dave

BTW, the full name would the Properties notebook pages

I didn't get this one? What does it means.

I still do not know where to match that "DLG_XWPCLOCKALARM" (from the RES file) is the "xwpAddClockAlarmPage" method. I'm getting it right or I'm just making non-sense?

Hi

I'm trying to understand what are the steps that I need to do from this point.
Right now I have the IDL file and the RES files and I want to have a XWPCLOCK.DLL. I only looking for the basic thing to have a WPS object that can be register and only with three tabs with some controls that still does nothing.

I guess that the order will be to:
- sc compiler
- icc compiler
- rc compiler
- use the linker to produce "XWPCLOCK.DLL"

Now I need to know the parameters. I will be checking HWMAN make file and ask about it.

I had been reading on how to use the sc.exe compiler.
If I run:
  sc.exe -s"h;ih;c" xwpclock.idl
It will create me the .c .h and .ih file from the .idl.  Do I have to run this only once? since I guess I eventually will need to add more logic to the .c file, right?
Does it also applies for C++ ? or I need different parameters on sc.exe ?

Hi Dj Koelkast.

I know this may be "Warp 3 o Burst"  ;D   but what do you think if you give a try with Warp 4 or Warp 4.52 to see if you can pass the install phase, or if you experience the same issue. Just to see if there is a different result and then you get back to Warp 3.

Uhm, just as a curiosity, when you run the Warp 3 Installer, I guess it was at the first screen asking your for input, can you do a F3 and go to command line and do a "ver /r", which release do you have? which language is it? 8.162, 8.200 ?

Hi

I want to see if there is the stand alone installer available.
ArcaOS 5.0.2 does not has it, but ArcaOS 5.0.4 has it, so it was released to the public.

Hi

I created  simple GUI with URE for the three notebook pages (is it called that way?) that I want to have on XWPClock. The GUI is still ugly and incomplete, but my goal is just to try to compile a WPS object and register it, without having the full program logic inside it yet.

I need some help please. Can someone help with the procedure to compile a XWPCLOCK.DLL file, so I can be able to register a WPS class that shows the GUI. (the notebook pages). I really have no idea of the compile process or how to create the make file.

Just suggest me the procedure (with details please) and I would get the needed tools. Right now I have the "IBM C and C++ Compilers Version 3.6.5".

Hi

Just as a quick reply. I have a little page with the "Updated Installation Disks" I was able to find around:
https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/OS/2_Updated/Modified_Installation_Diskettes

Maybe you can give it a try.

I'd be curious to see in the hardware listings an entry to say "This is available to buy new." vs. "This is of historical interest."

Hi Neil

I was thinking to separate the list of mainboards from 2010 to 2020 and the rest put it on a "List of Motherboards (Archive)" page, but I wanted the list to grow a little bit more.
I also think that  putting the release year on the list will give an idea if it something that can be found new or historical.

Thanks for sharing Mathias. I will put it on the Wiki.

Are all the components of the laptop working, Audio?, Video with Panomara or SNAP? .
Any trick on the config.sys for drivers?
Does it looks like the one on the picture? Whats does the antenna does? Wifi?

Hi Rick

Sometimes I got that error when I plug the stick on an USB 3.x port. Maybe you can check if you are putting it on a USB 2.x port.

Dave, did you compiled that js.exe.

It worked for me with some base .js samples, it was interesting.
Like:
Code: [Select]
function add(a, b) {
return a+b
}
console.log(add(4, 6))

I don't know if I can get other samples (possible with GUI) to see if it works.
