Greetings,
Now that I am getting things dialed in ( thank you to all for your help) I am wondering if there is a task scheduler or cron like utility in os2? Seems I remember something from the warp days but for the life of me can’t remember it..

Open the properties of an executable object and look at the tab named Schedule.

I believe what Dave is suggesting is specific to AOS, is it not? Perhaps another add-on / utility if not just AOS?
On my machine I rely on CRON/2 (Hobbest filename => cron2141.zip). There are other alternatives, you can find a listing on Hobbes here => https://hobbes.nmsu.edu/?dir=%2F&stype=all&sort=type_name&search=cron (https://hobbes.nmsu.edu/?dir=%2F&stype=all&sort=type_name&search=cron)

It comes for free with Dragtext, to quote http://www.e-vertise.com/dragtext/ (http://www.e-vertise.com/dragtext/),
DragText also includes a "free gift" just for trying it: DTProgram, a comprehensive enhancement for program objects. Set environment variables, customize its menus, schedule objects to open on selected days or dates, and more...
