Hi
I found this video from "Sergey Glazunov". (ArcaOS (OS/4 - kernel, HPET support) Audioinstrument)
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuSGhBRKskw&t=14s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuSGhBRKskw&t=14s)
It uses ArcaOS for some Audio equipment, but I don't understand, if it is only playback, or if it has some special hardware working with ArcaOS or some specific software I may not know.
I'm not an "audio aficionado", I don't know much about this subject, any basic explanation is welcome too.

Hi
I think I found more information on another video from the same author.
Source - ArcaOS
USB Sound interface - ESI U24XL
USB bus filter - IFI micro iUSB3.0
Audioinstruments components:
DAC - DI-200 Tube preout
AMP - Sirius Solo Tube Amplifier
AC - Power
Designed and manufactured
Sergey Glazunov

I'm guessing that ESI 24XL (https://www.esi-audio.com/products/u24xl/) is working on ArcaOS, or is it the "Ifi micro iUSB3.0 (https://ifi-audio.com/products/micro-iusb3-0/)" ?

Hi
I got this reply on YouTube.
Hello.
Point by point.
This is a very old video, a lot has changed since then.
1. The ESI U24XL was running on a very old version of the drivers USBAUDIO.SYS, this audio interface is based on the Tenor chip and does not support UAC2.
2. IFI micro iUSB3. 0 does not require additional drivers. Logically, this is a hub that can work in backward compatibility mode. It was used at the time to clear the signal from a laptop as a rather noisy digital signal source. When switching to a fully linear power supply of the audio computer, there is no need for such filters.
3. I support the PM123 project, invest time and money in creating a device (in fact, a computer - an audio streamer) based on the ArcaOS operating system.
No operating system allows you to get such a natural sound close in characteristics to the sound of the master tape.
Over the past 5 years, on the initiative of our team and with the support of Dmitry Steklenev, the UPnP port for the PM123 player was created, now the player can be controlled from any phone and send any audio content to it. Including PCM and DSD of any resolution.
Our team of enthusiasts launched a project to develop a UAC2 driver together with Wim and Lars, we tested devices on an XMOS chip that could work in UAC and UAC2, and thus obtained the necessary data to adjust the diagnostic program first, and then the drivers.
At the moment, there is almost no sound interface that would not play from ArcaOS over USB. We bought and tested everything that raised suspicions of incompatibility and created reports for developers, which allowed us to create a stable driver.
All of this applies exclusively to Hi-Fi and Hi-End class audio components, the ESI U24XL was an exception to the rule, since at that time it was difficult to find another device for converting USB to SPDIF.
I will try to post new videos on the channel with the recording of the sound of different Hi-End systems, which include a computer with ArcaOS installed as a digital player.

Hi Martin.
Yes, this is my video.
It demonstrates the audio capabilities in OS/2.
The ESI U24XL card was used as the sound card. Driver USBAUDIO.SYS.
That was a long time ago. I am currently using cards based on a ХMOS chip, which runs under USBAUD2.SYS.
Thank you Wim Brul
I have been testing the driver for 2 years USBAUD2.SYS..
During this time, we have added a large number of sound cards, and today the driver supports almost any device that runs on the UAC2 protocol.

Hi Sergey, thanks for your reply and your videos.
I want to document the USB audio devices that are working and tested under ArcaOS on the OS2World wiki. (https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/List_of_Audio_Cards#USB)
If you can share the brand and model number of the device you have tested I will include them on the list.

Hi Martin and Sergey,

My thanks to Sergey Glazunov for the pleasant and fruitfull collaboration that we have.

Hi Wim.
I'm very glad to see you.
Martin, Wim listed almost all the devices that we tested.
I would like to add that the main two devices are XMOS and Amanero, which are now used in almost any DAC. Therefore, the devices that supports USBAUD2.SYS much more.
There is one caveat to the Amanero device: it must first be flashed with the latest version.
After that, the device will accept the standard UAC2 protocol and will be seen by the driver USBAUD2.SYS
The Amanero device, it is better to buy a licensed one, otherwise the firmware will not be available.

Thanks for the info.
I had updated the OS2world wiki the best that I can: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/List_of_Audio_Cards#USB (https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/List_of_Audio_Cards#USB)
Suggestions are welcome.
