Thanks Dave for the new version - works great here too. And thanks Martin for requesting the password repository at www.github.com/textbrowser... looks like it may be in our future! Dooble just keeps getting better.

 @Mauro - I don't see your issue here either.

Hi David, test with www.repubblica.it and check

Hi Dave, will be glad to test it soon as rpm ready. By my side confirm that the november release solved some previous issues like trap on exit and self-termination as the website workload became heavy. Still remains the oddity of hiding word characters in some pages, usually the head titles (www.repubblica.it , www.libero.it).
Doing a very good job on this project

hi, sorry if already mentioned here, this thread has 12 pages now and not easy to recover a post focusing an issue : latest Dooble release work fine in my installation except for Youtube main page which cause 99,9% cpu usage, preventing any other action.
I've the feeling that it was aready seen.
Thank you much

Hi Dave, thinking to upgrade older working version, could just the Dooble.exe file be replaced by the one in this rpm, or the entire package would have to be upgraded (or reinstalled) ?
Thank you

Thank you, that works. Just tried the ANPM with double selection mode following the suggestion by Alex, sure it would work same with the yum command line

Applications / hints for python upgrade
« on: November 19, 2023, 09:12:58 am »
Hi all, Python upgrade which should be a prerequisite for QT5 installation, cause error messages on my attempt and remains undone under ANPM operation.
Guess the point is, as learned here time ago, by one side the i686 platform of some packages causing incompatibility for this task vs pentium 4 version, and on the other side ANPM itself (best say YUM) which prevents modifications of its Python files needed to run.
Posts about it have been written here but non easy to retrieve the one describing the final steps to solve.
Is ther a wiki-how or procedure description I can go through ?
Something I could remember there were specific YUM commands to use in a window instead of ANPM application.
Thank you

Applications / Re: ANPM disables netlabs-experimental repository URL
« on: November 18, 2023, 08:43:36 pm »
ok thank you, to be more specific: I had installed in ANPM the Netlabs repositories + the public one of Arcanoae by URI setting indicate on this page

https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/anpm/

and all worked till now , then the Netlabs experimental did stop connecting.

Now I've seen different URI on the Netlabs.org page, replaced the one for Netlabs experimental and it runs now,  the other ones with the URI indicated in that Arcanoae link were left untouched and still keep running

Temporary outage?
Thank you

thank you for confirming.

The site appearance/domain do not bring to think it's a piracy repository.

Dears,
apparently, everybody can download the ISO of Arcaos 5.0 from here:

https://------

and after that -guess- install and use it.

is that legally allowed ?
Sounds new to me.

Moderator's Note: I had removed the link to avoid problems. Martin.

it is recommended to remove the existing .dooble directory before the new installation, right?

Hi here's the latest release of Dooble compiled for Qt5. See the release notes under Help for what's new.
https://c.gmx.com/@744346040190108571/HQZnnDywT-ejiK1nqp1OYw

testing (QT5 environment on OS2 Warp 4.52 in Virtualbox guest, with 4Gb RAM), it opens the pages efficiently as before and I can run at least 3 pages same time on different "resource demanding" sites as Linkedin, Youtube, Gmail, Newsmedia. It also keeps same unstability issues which happen randomly, or at least I cannot tell when/why : cpu usage on Dooble instance goes at 100% (seen with Top), site pages not responding and almost everything slowdown in the system, but I can still operate Top to kill the process.  Guess memory usage matter

General Discussion / Re: PMfax

Looks like a winmodem, so no, it won't work under OS/2. Something like a USB USR robotics modem will work as the USB interface is presented as a com port.

understand, I'had suspected that.
Thank you

General Discussion / Re: PMfax
« on: March 28, 2023, 08:27:26 pm »
I'm curious about PMFax. First connection functionality I've been able to run at first OS2 usage in 1995 was a fax client in WINOS2 even before I could connect to Internet. Unfortunately cannot remember the software name.
Was by a 14.4 kbps modem through the serial port.
I'd like to try again, what I have is a Webrunner Atlantis Land 56.6 kbps USB faxmodem working in Windows 10, Conexant chipset, and OS2 Warp 4.52 on a Virtualbox guest machine.
Do you think I can afford the challenge?
Of course assuming that PMFax accepts USB connection or an alternative configuration setup for connection, and also can be used with the so said "winmodem" as that model should be.
Thank you
