Setup & Installation / Re: No mouse/keyboard after BIOS update
« on: November 11, 2024, 10:44:40 pm »
Hello Per.

Just to know a little bit more I was checking a Simulator of your BIOS

I guess is this one (text mode only).

What is the two things? "XHCI Hand-off" and "above 4G decoding" the things that did the trick? or just one of those?

I have this hardware report on the wiki:
It says "enable "CSM" and disable "Above 4G Decoding"".
I don't remember who reported that on 2020, was it you?

Did the BIOS updated enabled back the "Above 4G Decoding"?

Regards

Hello Neil

As a novelty I always wanted to create a thing called OS/2 Warp 4.1.

Please check this page and let me know what I'm missing according to your vision creating the VM.

Hello Doug

Sorry to drift away from the subject, but your setup picture looks great. I'm obsessed with your "IBM 6094-010 Dials" and your "IBM Lighted Program Function Keyboard". I don't know if they work on OS/2 or what would I do with those, but they look so damn cool !!!!.

Hello Jochen

Sorry I can not answer your question I only use Uniaud here. I experience your same issue with the sound. This version render the image better than the last one I use. In the VM I was able to wakl very slowly, but on the Think pad T14s, I don't know why it does not get the WASD and Space to move. But I can click to break the squares and hear the sound.

Thanks Paul

Here it goes: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Lenovo_Thinkpad_X13_Carbon_1st_Gen_-_20T3
I think that the Ethernet will work once you get the "ThinkPad Ethernet Extension Adapter Gen 2" (Part Number: 4X90Q84427). It is the same adapter on my T14s laptop and I'm using that adapter.

Let me know any remarks about the installation that you may want to share.

Thanks Wim, I noticed there is a serial number on the "Panorama" report, I will also remove those numbers every time I see one of those.

1) highlight the text you want and while still LMB pressing down click on the RMB => tada...the text is copied

Now to PASTE this, you simply:

1) push down on the RMB, and click on the LMB

easy!!!

WOW !!! this is so hard with a trackpoint, but works great for a regular mouse !!!
Thanks for sharing.

Hello

I'm lost on the "RMB 'Copy/Paste/Cut' (Dariusz)", can someone explain it to me?
Is it something that with the "right mouse click" shows a menu with  'Copy/Paste/Cut' ? Was it available and it is not available anymore? or was some special software?

Hello Rich

I understand that we can not bend your will to change your mind. You are not getting paid for your work on XWorkplace and I appreciate the effort you made to include the "text size" functionality and keep bug fixing it.

I just want to reply this:
.. If you want to pursue this, why not talk to Styler's maintainer?

The user right now has two icons for Keyboard configuration on ArcaOS. (picture attached). For something very punctual as the "Warp Key" (not the Windows Key  ;D) configuratioin, I personally think it can be better to integrate that XWorkplace Keyboard WPS object instead of putting it on Styler as a extra icon,  Styler is very good but it is more related to Window/Buttons Styles.

Programming / Re: VisualAge C++ 3.6.5 (+ Fix2) - WarpIn or RPM?
« on: November 06, 2024, 12:30:45 am »
Hello

Returning to the subject of a "VisualAge C++ 3.6.5 (+ Fix2)  WarpIn Installer". I think I have it in someway working, sadly I'm not a developer to completely test it out.  I preferred a Dave Yeo suggestion of having a WarpIn installer that does not modify the config.sys and only give you the "Command line" icon (REXX script) with the icc working.

Now I have a little thing here with the icons. I use "Dynamic Icons" so, the .ICO files I'm assigning are not showing. Is there any way to also assign a PNG icon with the WarpIn Installer script?
I refer to this:
Quote
CREATEOBJECT="REPLACE WPProgram|Message Queue Analysis Tool|<WP_IBMC>|EXENAME=cmd.exe;ICONFILE=$(1)\bin\MQWA.ICO;PARAMETERS=/k $(1)\bin\setenv.cmd MQWA.EXE;STARTUPDIR=$(1)\WORKING;OBJECTID=<IBMCMessage>;""
;ICONFILE=$ only assigns the .ICO file, is there a way to asing the PNG file?

Hello David.

I had been working on a little installer for an old IBM C compiler and I want to ask you if you can please reimagine/redo/improve these icons, in a bigger PNG format.

Thanks in advance.

Hello SoundChaser

I think you are in the right track.

Arca Noae published this page and I think it will be good to read it first and find anything that may be missing to complement it.
