Did you have a look at them?
I had a look at the first few of them and I think they are disputable because they are sexist.

Hello all,

let me please contribute to this discussion with my thoughts about it.
A lot has been said which I absolutely agree to. But there is one thing which has not been mentioned and which is the most important to me.

I am a long time user of all kinds of OS/2. And all that time I contributed to the different versions by sponsoring, supporting and ordering them. But all that time I am working with OS/2 Warp 4.52 thank Sigurd by an updated installation. I do my daily jobs as a teacher by using OpenOffice and other kind of well known software. I used and still have different kinds of laptops and PCs over the years. And I always installed the different kinds of OS/2-versions (OS/2 Warp 4.52, eCS and ArcaOS) but returned to Warp in the end.
So at least I wondered and asked myself why should I use ArcaOS. In the end it does its job not much better for me than Warp 4.52 does. There are still the same problems like always. There are no Wifi-drivers for example which support my latest Laptops (ThinkPad Yoga 12) at all or better than the already existing.
And I really do not want to install ArcaOS on any newer laptops because I do not intend to buy a new laptop each and every year. So I do not need the newer installation routins.
I just would expect my existing hardware to be supported better or at all. And this is not the case.
And as I do not see it changing I could stop it. I will use OS/2 Warp 4.52 as long as possible.

The meetings in cologne were an absolutely highlight to me. The visitors contributed by presentations and hints and every question by me was answered. And my questions were almost about any kind of software and quite seldom about OS.
But the visitors are getting less as Sigurd already stated. So at least it doesn't make sense any more. I will definitely miss it.

Thanks a lot to all the guys taking part in the past and taking part this year. Hope to you soon in Cologne.

Hello Sigurd, hello Wim,

thanks a lot for your continouisly work. Your work provides "new" hardware horizons which made me order a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga as well.
Great!

Setup & Installation / Re: Problem with Win 7 and ArcaOS 5.3 installation

You have to start the ArcaOS- Installation again until you have the choice to do a service on your partitions. There you have to activate the Bootmanager and start your machine again.

Hello Greggory,

Wolfie did the ssh-presentation in Cologne (have a look here: http://www.os2.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=482&start=25). You might send him a pm asking for his presentation. Or, if you want me to I could ask him for the presentation.

Mail-News / PMMail 3.11.30.1767 and PGP (PGPTools 1.01)
« on: December 01, 2015, 08:59:32 pm »
I wonder if there is somebody who managed to install PGPTools 1.01 to run successfull with PMMail 3.11.30.1767.
I did the install and PMMail is showing a tab called "Security" under the setting of an acount. PMMail is running properly so far but under "Available Security Agents " PGP is not recognized as an available agent although PGP can be started from a command line. No need to tell that neither PGP nor PGPTools are running successfull.
Has anybody had the same problem and managed to solve it? Or might that be a bug of PMMail?
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Events / Call for presenters - User meeting Colgne 2014
« on: July 29, 2014, 08:24:31 pm »
As already announced a user meeting will be held in Cologne on the 29th of November 2014.
The last meeting was somekind of surprise concerning the topics, as we did not know who and how many users would take part.

This time we know that quite a lot people are interested in this meeting and different users already declared that they very much would like to come. So for this time we would like to do a little organization in advance.
Some of the participants of the meeting in 2013 declared last time, they would like to do a presentation of something they are working on. We very much appreciated this announcement and do now ask to renew this commitment.

So Sigurd's and my (Thomas) questions are:

- who is willing to do a presentation and on what kind of topic?
- what kind of topics are the visitors / users interested in?
- who intends to visit the meeting?
- do you have any suggestions to be considered by us?
- ...

The meeting will be held in

http://koeln-riehl.jugendherberge.de/en/Portrait

Please consider to do your booking in time.

So far for now.
We are curious for your suggestions, comments, ...

Cheers

Thomas and Sigurd

Great! Thanks a lot.
Looking up that directory offers a lot DLLs. How can I find out which one I need? Or would you suggest to take them all?
