Internet / Thunderbird 31.6
« on: June 29, 2015, 04:16:33 am »
I've uploaded a preliminary build of Thunderbird 31.6 along with its corresponding Lightning build to https://bitbucket.org/dryeo/dry-comm-esr31/downloads. Should have the same requirements as the bitwise build of Firefox 24.8.1.
As usual, it is a good idea to back up your profile before testing though it has been stable for me.
SeaMonkey (and Firefox) still have some issues and the new sound library (thanks to KOMH for porting) hasn't been committed yet and I'll probably release a build when Bitwise releases FF31.8

Found this, openzinc.com. To quote,

The first of these is portability, both among operating systems and compilers. The OpenZinc code can potentially provide GUI interfaces in DOS Text, DOS Graphics, 16 bit Windows, 32 bit Windows, OS/2, Macintosh 68K, Macintosh PPC, Any X Windows system supporting Motif, NextStep and Curses. The framework can also be compiled on virtually any C++ compiler from legacy compilers to the latest releases.

Also includes a visual designer. The screenshots are interesting.
Released under the LGPL

Internet / Firefox Developer Edition 24.8.1b4
« on: March 16, 2015, 01:36:34 am »
Hi I've uploaded https://bitbucket.org/dryeo/dry-comm-esr24/downloads/firefox-dev-24.8.1b4.en-US.os2.7
This is based on the same Gecko code as the Bitwise Firefox beta 4 release with the addition of libsydneyaudio to re-enable HTML5 sound.
This build should have fewer requirements then the Bitwise build, the mzfntcfgft package, libc066.dll and mmap.dll. I've also uploaded a build of mmap to https://bitbucket.org/dryeo/dry-comm-esr24/downloads/mmap.zip which does not have the gcc1.dll and stdcpp6.dll requirements.
Build is currently only lightly tested.

Internet / Thunderbird 24.8.1b3

I've uploaded https://bitbucket.org/dryeo/dry-comm-esr24/downloads/thunderbird-24.8.1b3.en-US.os2.7z
This is based on the same Gecko code as the Bitwise Firefox beta 4 release with the addition of libsydneyaudio to re-enable HTML5 sound. Requirements are the same.
Note that due to combining mozjs.dll into xul.dll, Lightning needs to be updated.
https://bitbucket.org/dryeo/dry-comm-esr24/downloads/lightning-2.6.5r2.en-US.os2.xpi

Note that I've seen some instability with both TB and SM xul.dlls loaded into high memory. I haven't really tested Firefox much but be aware.

If anyone is interested I've uploaded SeaMonkey 2.21b1 and Thunderbird 24.8.1b1 to Hobbes.
Based on the Bitwise work for Firefox 24.8.1, same requirements and same issues.
Thanks to Bitwise for their work

Comments, Suggestions & Questions / timeouts when posting
« on: September 29, 2014, 02:14:53 am »
A while ago I mentioned that occasionally I'll get a timed out message when posting and my post would helpfully be blank. Once this starts the  only way to post is to go back to the post, shutdown the browser and reboot. I can't remember which thread it was so starting a new one including a screen shot.

Comments, Suggestions & Questions / Connectivity problems (os2world.com)
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:16:21 am »
Just wondering if anyone else is finding www.os2world.com unreachable on a semi-regular basis? Especially anyone using Telus as an ISP.
Lately, usually in the evenings but all day today all I get are timeouts when trying to connect to os2world with multiple browsers. Tracerte dies somewhere in Germany. Also at least wikipedia and github are also unreachable at the same time, most other sites, mail etc load at the usual speed.  I'm in the Pacific Standard Time zone.
