Hi Martin,

try "java -jar tvbrowser.jar -ignorejvm"  to launch TVBrowser. Had the same issue with connecting to internet and -ignorejvm solved this.

cheers

Mo
I have tried again TV-Browser and also with this switch. It is shown at startup, however in my bugtracker file I get this;
11-jul-2015 15:51:27 tvbrowser.TVBrowser parseCommandline
WARNING: Unknown command line parameter: '-ignorejvm'

The program did start, got through some setup screens and... nothing. There are no stations available for Holland, took Belgium and nothing. Then I tried Denmark, added five channels and bye bye. Got Lib panics, now I know that this is the other way to say I don't have enough memory, I put in 128Mb. Program comes up again, but now the language is changed to one I can't read. Tried to switch to English and from that moment it was game over. Didn't understand this, so got into the jar file and I have opened the manifest. Its compiled with Java 7.... I know everything on the net says Java 6, but this is not true, hence we got all kinds of problems. I delete this program and I have made an entry on my page "Disapproved Java programs". Sorry that I don't have better news, took me some hours today.

Why must XUL.DLL in shared memory? If next releases demand 300Mb than the game is over for me. I'm running now 24.8.1and have 206Mb left for use. Or do we have more systems which rely on XUL.DLL, but if this is an older package then we might end up in the known dll war.

I posted a bug about 24.8.1, the one that download nr 3 will crash the program, but I get the stupid reply to move on to a higher version. Are they that stupid that they don't understand that not everyone had ADHD in developing?  Where can I put the bug so we get a working system next level?

I'm now trying to identify this DLLs.

NAMEDSP.DLL
NAMEFW.DLL
NAMEREXX.DLL

One says it is the "Name Framework", but I never hear of that on OS/2. Or should I count them as part of Unicode? This three reference the  LIBUNI.DLL and UCONV.DLL files.

Regards
Has probably to do with the tree structure. You can find a few things about name*.* in the help.

This is the last program I added today;

You can find it on this page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e53.htm

Some parts of the program do not work due to differences between Java. The well known "Help" doesn't work because the browser can't be found. There is no information how to solve this problem, but there is also no error in the bug file.

Joop, do you mean this one?
Yes.

The strange stuff I can found in my case it  that produces a directory which seems to be the Odin directory structure to make the java app believe it is running on Windows. Do you have the same problem? I thought it was because I moved the UNIXROOT of my machine.
The programs do run on my machine with similar setups. So no difference here. I had files on all drives I picked for saving files and it dropped some in the home directory. As soon as you choose for something else than Odin and my documents the program seems to have a mind of its own. Also it produces things somewhere "in between". I had a directory which wasn't shown anywhere, but it was not hidden because FC/2 will show those too. Very strange.
Running the recorder is going very slow, the meter is going to 99.99% and it is almost not possible to run something else next to it. Yes we can run it, doing something useful with it is on my machine out of the question. For me not a candidate for my homepage about Java.

I have played today with a new program called XtremeMP, this is one of the looks;

All ins and outs can be found here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e51.htm

Be careful with your ears, you've got only two of them and you need both of them! I have also a site about a headphone soundlevel meter if you're interested. You just have to go to one of my pages and go some steps back, you can't miss it on the main menu ;-). Its build with very cheap materials and the best part of it: it works!

Hi Joop.

Thanks a lot for sharing. Too bad I don't have more time to test more Java apps :(
Which source do you use to find out which Java (desktop) apps are around?  http://www.java-apps.org/   ?

Regards
Hi Martin, would you be so kind to go back a few messages. I had asked you some questions and I like your opinion.
Thanks!
Finding apps is some sort of a pain in the you know what. I try first http://sourceforge.net and then I get some "hints" and with that I try Google.  Typing in the right search word is most important. That is sometimes difficult because my native is Dutch and the way we learned searching is totally different than what is teached on your site of the pond.

Programming / support opengl
« on: July 05, 2015, 04:35:31 pm »
I did test a Java CAD program for Legobricks. But it won't start due to not know our OS. I wrote to the developer and he answered that it's build on Java-to-OpenGL library called JOGL http://jogamp.org/ that includes some native code as a bridge to native OpenGL calls.
Now the question, does OS/2-eCS support OpenGL?
