Hi Dave

Here Seamonkey does display the rest of the page as far as I can tell.

It seems youtube will not let Seamonkey play the vids simply because Seamonkey is not on the "supported" browser list as clicking on the "Learn more" link accompanying the "Your browser can't play this video" takes me to https://www.youtube.com/supported_browsers. Funnily that page tells me

"Your browser is up to date

You can use YouTube's latest features!"


Obviously something wrong with youtube coding....

I set NoScript to allow all on that page, reloaded page but no change.


I'll give ClipCrab a try, Thanks for the pointer Rene.

Hi All

Thanks to Martin for uploading vids.

What OS and browser are recommended for viewing youtube vids these days? I ask as Seamonkey does not work - youtube tells me "Your browser can't play this video." - and Dooble (and/or underlying support) is simply too flaky to try to watch video clips longer than a few minutes.

I seem to remember having some sort of "youtube downloader" a few years ago which may be an alternative solution if I can find a current release...

The tool - cleanppd.cmd - to clean the ppd file is found in [BootDrive]:\sys\install\PRNDRV\PMDD_6\cleanppd.cmd

Probably worth reading the section of the readme file describing use  [BootDrive]:\sys\install\PRNDRV\PMDD_6\readme

Looking at sane supported scanners I see the ecotank l3160 is supported by current sane release  http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-EPSON   man page  http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-escl.5.html

So, looks like you may have to wait until current sane release - 1.3.1 - is ported to see if the l4150 will also work...

Hi All

I have a cheap HP inkjet/scanner, Envy Photo 6234, which gets to print a couple of pages now and again - roughly every 4 to 6 weeks.

I frequently find that the inkjet cartridges have become blocked, ink has dried in the printheads, due to lack of regular use.

As the ink is water based the cure is not to replace the cartridges but simply to soak the printheads gently in some water for a couple of minutes then reinsert cartridges in printer and print a Status Report from the printers setup selection which delivers enough black and colour ink to show whether the water treatment worked. I have only had to repeat the water treatment once and never had to replace blocked cartridges.

O course, I do not let dogs,cats or very young humans slobber over any printed photos  :-)

The MSI B450 - https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=MSI_B450M_PRO-VDH_MAX - almost fits your specs ie works well with ArcaOS 5.1, no problem accessing around 3.5Gb RAM *but* only has 1 PS/2 port ...

Have you tried checking all required files are available using pmdll?

Just checked my installed arctool package using anpm and I see that Reinstall is grayed out.
The list of Available Warpin packages is empty - I have yet to see this ever populated.

Sorry for slow response, had to go away for a few days. While I was away I realised what the problem with kva:snap option is: This system is not using the SNAP driver.

It seems smplayer must have the capability to switch video output mode if the selected mode fails.

I attach 2 log files for your perusal
smplayer.log  - playback works despite kva:snap being selected video output, auto switches to VMAN
66295c21-003c_01-MPLAYER-exceptq.txt - the trap file generated whenever smplayer/mplayer is closed

The snapwrap.dll file is in the mplayer.exe directory - as is woverlay.dll which also fails when trying to use kva:wo.

I can answer my question: snap output is not working.
The mplayer log displayed by smplayer does not mention any problem with snap output but I found the smplayer log has these lines:-

[14:28:20:772] MplayerProcess::parseLine: 'KVA: Init failed!!!'
[14:28:20:803] MplayerProcess::parseLine: 'Opening video filter: [ass auto=1]'
[14:28:20:807] MplayerProcess::parseLine: '[ass] auto-open


I think the above indicates that mplayer could not initiate snap output and switched to "auto" video output.Not sure what causes mplayer to switch output...


I did try to copy'n'paste the mplayer command line from smplayer but I think the line is too long as it does not fully copy.

The above seems to indicate snap output is working.


Trying to play the same video directly with mplayer from the command line using this command
   mplayer -vo kva:snap -msglevel ao=9:vo=9 -quiet L:\download\Caligula.mp4 > mplayer.log 2>&1
results in no playback and this in the log:-

Re "Register": The Button only tries to execute an URL, which on other platforms opens the default browser with the URL. I don't know, how to fix that. Perhaps somebody has done something similar and can tell me.



You need to read the os2.ini file to get default browser (and profile) data then use DosExecPgm to start browser with profile data and website url as parameter.

Happy to send you the code I used in USBcfg - it is in Pascal but that is not too different from c.
