Whilst I'll continue to work on this as time permits, any sponsorship is greatly appreciated - via PayPal using the link at https://os2ports.smedley.id.au, or via the Arca Noea webstore at https://www.arcanoae.com/shop/os2-ports-paul-smedley

If nothing else - if you're interested in seeing this work continue, please comment here to let me know that I'm not wasting my time on this!

Thank you very much Paul for your efforts with porting Qt 6. This is very interesting because it opens the door of the potencial software that can be ported.

Hi

I don't know what this program does:
http://www.os2site.com/sw/apps/desktop/systray/traymenu.zip

It runs and it does not shows anything here, and it has no documentation of what is doing or how to use it.

Ohh, silly me. Now I get it. You need to combine both files, and the installer will work.

Now I want to see how it works, I don't see any dialog change according to the screenshots.

Hi

Just for the fun of it I want to try to install "Dialog Enhancer '99" on a ArcaOS test VM.  But I can not get the installer to work for this file "DialogEnhancer99_2-00g.zip". The installer says it misses some files that are right there.

Also, I guess that later I can use "DialogEnhancer99_pack_6-00g.zip" to update it. It has a "UPDATE.DAT" binary that I have no idea how to use yet.

Any ideas on how to install and update this software?

Hi Andy

Do you have any binary release of version 3 to give it a try?

Web applications / Re: Our FF and Sync, anyone tried it?
« on: November 24, 2022, 03:22:11 pm »
Hi

I remember that on the days that Firefox 45 was current, I was able to use Firefox Sync between my OS/2 and Windows devices. It sync the bookmarks, preferences and password. But Sync got updated on the mainstream and not for the OS/2 port.

If Mozila Sync is open and documented it may be interesting to try to only grab that to make it work on OS/2, but how? To make it work on old Firefox 45? or maybe asking the Dooble developer to see if he can put Mozilla Sync support on his browser? Or can Mozilla Sync work as a addon on Otter?

Sorry, I only have questions and not any solution.

Hi

Does Hot Java Browser still runs on the latest OpenJDK that we have? The Rexx script does not run on my side.
It is just for fun, I'm not expecting to do much with it.

Hi

For the moment I had found the following native games with some kind of joystick support. But my results had not been stable or good at the moment.

BUGS (execute bugs.exe -j or -j2) - It goes to the right.
Cosmic Defender -  Joystick calibrates, but the game crash when I try to run the first level
    OS2Doom  -
    Doom - Dive -
    Makman - Works
    Rescue from Kedk
    Semtex
    Targ
    TOB Demo
    ToyLand
    Tunnel Wars

I will keep testing and let you know.

Hi Mark

Just for my records and wiki pages, can you please let me know the list of the joystick devices that you have that you consider that are working fine?

On my side I have:
- Huskee PSX Adapter - 0c12:0005
- PCS SNES Gamepad - 0810:e501

According to you guide you have:
- Logilink Gameport to USB converter
- Thrustmaster T. Flight Stick X

And I guess that Wim Brul tested the:
- Manta MM812

Mark, can you help me with the HardwareIDs for your two devices?

By the way, I think I will have some time this Saturday and I will go and check all the OS/2 Native games from my OHFOWG project to look for more games with joystick support.

Thanks for the feedback.

I still have a doubt about:

4) Once I get the image, is there any way to browse inside it to take some specific files, instead of restoring the partition somewhere?

Can I surf the files inside of the image to only get one file, like config.sys, or any other? Can I do that on DFSee or I need an extra tool? Any tips on how ?

Comments, Suggestions & Questions / Re: Hobbes (Files) Reoganization
« on: November 13, 2022, 08:16:21 pm »
Hi

There are these three files that I guess are somewhat related. os2nosv4.zip, pmnos11x.zip, pmnos1dx.zip. Those are ports of KA9Q NOS, according to wikipedia "KA9Q, also called KA9Q NOS or simply NOS, was a popular early implementation of TCP/IP and associated protocols for amateur packet radio systems and smaller personal computers connected via serial lines."

I have no idea exactly how it works. Is it a full TCP/IP implementation, or is only for serial communication? What about the amateur packet radio systems part?
I still don't get what the software does.

Hi David.

Can you also post the USB hardware report of the Logitech F310 Gamepad? You can use lsusb.

I want to add the info on a wiki page.
