ISTR there was a command-line tool from FaxWorks that could purge broken print configs if the system got into such a state. It might be worth trying that to make sure you're starting clean.

You mean prndrv.exe ? Can be found at Hobbes: http://hobbesarchive.com/Home/Download?path=/Hobbes/pub/os2/util/printer/PrnDrv_2000-01-16.zip

Programming / Re: Qt6 Application Testing

Hi Tom,

I already had 9.2 installed, but you're right... I just needed the 12.2 version which was found on Hobbes. Now some of the examples work - I'll post a result of testing once I get thru all of them...

Regards,

I was referring to the rpm-package (yum update libgcc) - not the compiler itself :).

Looks like your version of gcc1.dll isn't new enough. To be found in libgcc (most recent version: 9.2.0-5)

Now if someone could point me in the direction of installing fix paks?  I can find information on them, but not the fixpaks themselves.  Thanks for everyone's advice on the booting.

General Discussion / Re: EDM/2 Wiki Issue
« on: October 05, 2024, 11:29:35 pm »
Hello

1) Netlabs TRAC: I noticed that Netlabs TRAC script was updated to 1.6 (latest) and looks very good and works fine for the quick testing I made.
Check it out at: http://trac.netlabs.org/

2) EDM/2 is still broken. It is loading some pages without the style and main page does not work, but I hope it get fixed soon.

3) The Netlabs wiki is also partially broken. I'm not sure if the script is getting updated too.

4) Old Project Pages Web Script The project pages (xxxx.netlabs.org/en/site/index.xml) are broken. But I don't mind if those got archived/removed/sunset, because a long time ago I copied that pages information to the Netlabs wiki or to the project TRAC pages. I have no problem here, let me know any comments.
- ex: http://warpin.netlabs.org/en/site/index.xml

I wish good luck to Adrian who is migrating the server, and I guess also updating the scripts.

Just in case I have this page with the Netlab's Services - http://wiki.netlabs.org/index.php/List_of_Netlabs_Services

Regards

And now also the os2world.com wiki has problems:

MediaWiki internal error.

Original exception: [dfee6984310eb0a11c629e26] 2024-10-05 21:28:00: Fatal exception of type "Error"

Exception caught inside exception handler.

Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information.

Internet / Re: firefox question

Thank you Dariusz.  You are correct about the disk cache being what I am concerned about.  Now to find out how to auto clear it when firefox closes and I will be happy.

In Firefox/2 45.9.0: go to Tools --> Options --> Privacy --> History --> check "Clear history when Firefox closes".
Behind that: use the "Settings" button to indicate *what* you want to be cleared when closing Firefox.

FTR, if all else fails, there's \os2\archinst.exe.

Isn't it \os2\arcinst.exe ? (without the 'h')

Thanks for remembering Lars, and thanks Tom for the link! It does indeed work with the QT5 version of Dooble, so don't need to be moving things around - great! The file is gigantic - I wonder if it could be Lxlite'd? Here's hoping Paul can add this to the QT6 version too...

Regards,

It was a test version, so probably contains debug information. That could explain the large size. Rebuilding without debug information should take care of that.

Hi Lars

Where is the updated Qt5WebC.dll available?

Thanks

Pete

Although I am not Lars: http://rpm.netlabs.org/test/qw.7z
(as mentioned by Paul in https://github.com/bitwiseworks/qtwebengine-chromium-os2/issues/50)

Right-click on an empty place of the Desktop, and choose Properties --> Archives tab --> uncheck "Archive Desktop".
Standard it is checked, and 3 generations of archives are kept.

Could it be that you are are running out of free space for a new archive that is larger in size than the one about to be replaced?

Utilities / Re: YUM Issue - Error: database disk image is malformed
« on: August 06, 2024, 11:30:54 pm »
Silvan already answered that in the thread "ANPM database error"

Hello all, I "regularly" check for updates with ANPM, but today it does not want to display me anything (see screenshot as attachment).

I tried the options to clean and to redo the rpm database, to no available. I could find some old web mention of that error on os2.org (dating from 2019 IIRC) but without definitive solution (I tried what was suggested there).

Anyone has an idea on how to fix that problem?

Thanks for any idea !

it seems the database file on the netlabs server is broken. I contacted Adrian already. Lets hope he can fix it soon
