100% true you can load DLL's high and unload them and the memory is released so mozturbo for that purpose is no longer needed.

Roderick

So I still will need to mark the Mozilla DLLs to load high, but I no longer need mozturbo or anturbo. I hope this helps. Managing all the turbos was difficult if running two versions of Firefox, for example.

There's still a problem with memory fragmentation, especially with the stock VIRTUALADDRESSLIMIT. which is conservatively low in the interest of system stability.
The fragmentation issue mostly happens if you open and close multiple memory intensive programs.
Personally, I'm going to keep using the mozturbo programs as I do run multiple Mozilla apps and leave the computer running.
For most use cases it probably doesn't matter too much.

Good to hear, and makes sense that a CPU monitor might have a flaw with too many CPU's. Wonder if it is obvious what the problem is? Some of these SMP issues are hard to track down.
For myself, running 4 cores for quite a while, I'm quite happy with how ACPI handles them, especially the recent builds where it will shutdown 1,2 or 3 depending on load, and when I have had problems, after David accepted that the problem has existed (by default he figures things are correct, human nature), a fix has happened very quick.
Also happy with the default Xcentre CPU monitor. I've tested PUMonitor a few times but never liked it enough to keep using it.

Another thing to watch for is sometimes libraries get moved to legacy packages. For example, one of the Mozilla dependencies is/was libvpx, now it is libvpx-legacy-4 (or even libvpx-legacy-2 for older builds).
Ideally Bitwise should release an ICU legacy package but ICU is actually a pretty complicated beast so perhaps it is easier to rebuild OO.

Does it go away if you disable a core or 2? Does changing any BIOS options such as "cool and quiet" help?

Are you running AOS? If so, you should open an issue. I don't remember anyone having that failure.
If not, buying AOS 5.1 might help as UEFI DOS support seems better then BIOS based systems.

OK, thanks. Forgot that I had to disable the startup cache to succeed at make package. Xpcshell was crashing with a sigill IIRC.

RPM_REQUIREMENTS is incomplete.

I can run Firefox afterward, but not Thunderbird. I had to also use ANPM to install libvpx-legacy-2 and libvpx-legacy-4

OK, the Thunderbird I'll upload later should use libvpx-legacy-4.
The problem is the RPM requirements are a moving target as new incompatible builds come out and older libraries move to legacy versions. Next are the FFmpeg libs where for Mozilla the legacy version will need installing.

Any chance to see AVX build sometime ?

Same answer, except I lost that configuration so it would help if you open about:buildconfig and post the optimization I used. IIRC, it was -march=sandybridge.

Any chance you might do an updated build of my fave??? (Phenom II - '-march=amdfam10 -O2')  8)

Sure, I could after I finish with rebuilding Thunderbird.

If there is, it also means you already have FF45 installed.
To update, run Programs-->Installed Software-->Firefox-->FFTurbo uninstall. Move the existing Firefox program directory out of the way, unzip new one in its place and run FFturbo install.

I'd strongly recommend using the Pentium M build unless installing on a Pentium II or III or Athlon prior to the Athlon64. The Pentium M is basically an i686 with MMX, SSE and SSE2 added and I've also optimized it more, using SSE for math functions and tuning for a Core2, which might help for multicore machines and shouldn't hurt.

Be careful with upgrading and  the profile location has moved. It wiped out my bookmarks.

Hasn't changed for 45.9. Newer Firefox now uses a different profile every time you upgrade. 45.9 will use %HOME% if %MOZILLA_HOME% is not set. Your old profile should still be there.
