Title: Support Element 2.1 and ArcaOS/eCS on servers
Post by: Rich442 on January 30, 2018, 05:46:36 pm
I'm not sure where to post this. Please flag if it is in the wrong place. :)

Is IBM Support element  (http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/data-center/solutions/hpc/) still based on OS/2?
Anybody ever used it to boot (an program load) a z-series or System/390 machine? Can it be updated for Xeon series?
I think it would be great to know more about this application and whether ArcaOS could be used as a platform to make an updated version for the newest mainframes.  Inter
Does AN have a licensing scheme that would be attractive to  big-data corporations and "growing businesses" who use AIX or MS Exchange (or IBM/Oracle Linux)?

I noticed that IBM provides support plans (https://www.ibm.com/cloud-computing/bluemix/bare-metal-search/)  on a monthly, hourly or yearly cycle.
My thought process is that an updated system element by  could be an excellent way of getting OS/2 back in the corporate sphere.  Lenovo has some server solutions that look really interesting Lenovo High-Performance (http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/data-center/solutions/hpc/)

Thank you for any thoughts.
