Title: OS/2 related IRC channels.
Post by: Caluser2000 on May 28, 2018, 08:33:07 am
What are the best OS/2 related IRC channels? I't be cool to hook up my v3 system to them using PMIRC.

Cheers

The best OS/2 irc channels are #netlabs @ FreeNode, #os2warez, #os2world and #os2russian @ EFNet. PMIRC? Never used it, and suspect that it badly support different codepages. OpenChat or ChatZilla or Quassel are good enough. There is also PMBitchX by Paul Smedley.

PMIRC is quite a nice irc client with very little overhead. Ideal for systems like my 486.
I visit #vc on slashnet quite often with it.

OpenChat and PMBitchX have a very little overhead too, and have very much features.

Was PMIRC name changed to EZIRC (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/h-viewer.php?dir=/pub/os2/apps/internet/irc/client&file=ezirc12o.zip) ? 1997?

I remember I used it very long time ago. Sadly I was never able to contact Roger Bess to see if it can be open sourced.

Regards
