General Discussion / Re: OS/2 History Newsletters

Hello

Checking the crazy old stuff I found the os2tools_br files by @Macarlo. Those are Win32 exe programs that runs under Win-OS2 with Win32s for what I can see.

Are similar to an INF file describing in Portuguese some OS/2 software available.
I installed Win32s_1-25.zip

- os2tools_br16a.zip Runs fine.
- os2tools_br.zip traps OS/2 in VW32S. If i run it with Odin it says I'm missing Internet Explorer 4.

I don't expect much since it is not a relevant content for me, but just in case someone has an idea to fix this or have the same issue just let me know.

Regards

Networking / Re: VNC to Ubuntu LTS

Once I've VNC working to my NAS I think (Debian) but just checked, does not work anymore. I usually connect via RDP cause I can select the screen resolution I wanna see on the host not dependent on the physical setting of the guest. Copy/paste works too. Only drawback is the rectangular cursor shape background.

Anyway I think you need X11 for VNC and RDP instead Wayland. I've not very much experience with Linux but what I've read and tested a while ago is - VNC/RDP does not work with Wayland. Maybe this is not true anymore though. Just a hint for start searching. Probably you need to add your user to some 'allowed users' file too for VNC (as it is with RDP).

So I'm getting along, but I noticed some behaviour, I can't explain and I haven't find any clue in the Toolkit help.
While in the Launcher window or while in Game window with the menu open, the pointer isn't captured, so ALT+F4 works.
But in Game window with the menu closed, the pointer is captured, and then ALT+F4 will not work, while other keypresses are sending WM_CHARs.
Has someone a hint, what is happpening here?

Networking / VNC to Ubuntu LTS

I'm trying to use our VNC to connect to Ubuntu LTS.

It looks like it's trying to work, but I can never get a password accepted.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

A free version was included in OS/2 Warp 4 somewhere on the main ISO.

Hello

The "Minnesota OS/2 Users Group Newsletter" is missing some issues.
Missing: Vol1 Number 1 to 4, V1N8, V2N5.

Hi Tellie,
When you left us the qt6 version, I installed it, and put the qt6core.dll in the same folder of the nomacs.
I ran it and it worked perfectly, and I looked at a lot of photos and a lot of folders.
But, days later I wanted to open it again and it closed, seconds after opening. With an error in exceptq.
Editing the profile, I saw a mega line of a length of approximately 1600 columns, created with the qt6
They were the paths of each photo.
With the epm I left the line at about 600 characters.
I tried on the QT5 version, and it worked perfectly.
I put it back with the QT6 version, and it still works perfectly.
My conclusion : To have a correct profile in Qt6, you first have to have it created in Qt5.

Programming / Re: OpenDOC - Source Code

1) the Warp4 Toolkit (NOT the Warp 4.5 toolkit) came with a whole OpenDoc subdirectory, including all documentation (in HTML format)
2) there existed OpenDoc Version 1.2, multiple self-extracting installation executables. It is likely the same stuff as is contained in:
http://www.hobbesarchive.com/Home/Download?path=/Hobbes/pub/os2/dev/tools/toolkits/OpenDoc_1-2.zip
and it can also be found here:
https://www.adofai.gg/HOBBES/dev/opendoc/

I have both on CD-ROM.
