Hi Martin,

I have attached a replacement for viotbl.dcp with free source code. Supports code pages 437 and 850.
I used the Display Font Editer for OS/2 v0.02 (pmfoed002a.zip on hobbes) to edit the fonts.

Regards.

I will be also happy to know which of the files of this list can be easy replaced. Just to continue this experiment.

Hi Martin,

I have attached a replacement for country.sys with free source code. Supports Ecuador (country code 593 with code pages 850 and 437), Netherlands (country code 31 with code pages 850 and 437) and United States (country code 1 with code pages 850 and 437).

Regards.

Setup & Installation / Re: Thinkpad X250 & eCS

Hi Mike,

Quote
I have now tested both programs uvcscope & uvcview with the latest USB drivers from Lars (v10.202) and from AN (v11.13). In both environments both programs starts but  the video freezes after some seconds with the already posted error message. I couldn't repeat the three minutes run time for uvcview.

Thank you for your testing and reporting. It clearly shows that these webcam programs cannot run reliably in a multicore environment. Other people have run into the same problem with their webcams in such an environment. Unfortunately I cannot recreate that problem because I have only single cpu hardware to test with.

Quote
I guess I shall try a clean environment, but that is a little bit tricky for the X250 because I have to clone the OS using DFSee. If I have time I will give it another try and will stop for now testing the camera.

Don't spend more time on it since I really don't know how to solve the problem.

Best regards,
Wim.

Sorry, uvcscope.exe does not work for me as well.

Perhaps your webcam is not recognized at all anymore. In that case it is also not shown by usbres.exe and USB Dock. It seems to me that you need to revert your system back to the point where you were able to run uvcview.exe for about 3 minutes.

Thanks Wim

I replaced Keyboard.dcp and the English keyboard is working without any issues, which is good enough for this experiment.

Thanks for the source code, it can also "add up" to the community collective knowledge to know more about OS/2 files. I will be adding some pointers on the EDM/2.

Hi Martin,

With wmbkbd02.zip you can not use the three so-called window keys and some of the multimedia keys. With wmbkbd03.zip their scancodes are available and functions can therefore be assigned to a.o. the User (Moon) and E-Mail buttons.

Good to have pointers on the EDM/2.

Regards, Wim.

Hallo Mike,

ACPI.PSD with MAXCPU=1 and MAXCPU=2 brings the error message camrea not found (see picture).

May be you tried in the meantime some of my Webcam Test programs? That might be the cause of that error message.
When you define usbecd.sys in your config.sys to gain access to your webcam then ucvview.exe cannot find that webcam anymore.

Running uvcview.exe as the only program it was now stable for about 3 minutes before crashing (with all4 kernels).

You could try and use uvcscope.exe instead.

 Wim

Hi Brul, webcam starts but crashes shortly after.
Regards,
Mike

Hallo Mike,

The UvcView program is experiencing a timeout error. Try running it with one core enabled only.

It would be very nice if you can also get some time to test the webcam with USBECD :)

It is better to try and use my Webcam Support programs because these do not require any changes to your config.sys file.

Just for fun I created a.o. replacements of bkscalls.dll and kbdcalls.dll with source code.

Wim = hero  ;)

Being called a hero, I better supply the other replacements that I created.
wmbmou00.zip contains bmscalls.dll and moucalls.dll with source code.
wmbvio00.zip contains bvscalls.dll and viocalls.dll with source code.

I want to see if I can replace KEYBOARD.DCP. It seems that some replacements was done on the past and there is even this article "KEYBOARD.DCP File Format" (which I don't understand much since I don't code), but it will be interesting to know if there are some source code or binaries released about this "Keyboard layout file".

For the moment I don't have any source code or non-IBM binary of it.

I have attached a replacement for keyboard.dcp with free source code.
Supports code pages 437 and 850 and the "US 103" and "BR 274" languages.
Best suited :) for crappy warp I think. Have fun.

Hi Martin,

Just for fun I created a.o. replacements of bkscalls.dll and kbdcalls.dll with source code.
These now show their fully qualified drive, path, filename and extension at boot up.

I will also appreciate if someone can compile me some version of IBMKBD.SYS , SCREEN01.SYS and TIMER0.SYS that is on IBM DDK. I don't care if those are the latest level, I only want to try it on this experiment.

I only have the IBM DDK source of IBMKBD.SYS that I downloaded way back from their website. ;) Here it is.

Issue #5 - ObjectRexx Programs broken
SockLoadFuncs seems to be part of ObjectREXX which was removed since BWarp.
You need RXSOCK.DLL for REXX Socket Support.

I reinstalled the Toolkit, but nothing changed. Can anybody having the correct file send me a copy?

The cause of the problem lies in \TOOLKIT\TOOLKT45.RSP where PDPUBLIC.H overrides ACB.H

You may copy these files yourself from your 2nd eComStation CD which contains the toolkit.

\TOOLKIT\OS2TK45\H\ACB.H
\TOOLKIT\OS2TK45\H\PDPUBLIC.H

Hallo Joop, let it go and don't be sorry. It gave me a good starting point: With the help of this source code ...

Both -Dbrowser.arg0="@url" and -Dbrowser.arg0="$url" do work, but -Dbrowser.arg="@url does not work.
With e.g. -Dbrowser.arg0="-jsconsole" and -Dbrowser.arg1="$url"  you'll pass 2 arguments to the browser.

Regards, Wim.
