Thanks Eugene

I started with the ASUS

https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Asus_TUF_Gaming_X570-Plus_(wi-fi)

Please check it out. Let me know what do you think.
- Did you added an Intel network card to this mainboard ?
- Is the Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (MMRE.OS2) working?
- About the Audio, I always get confused on which one is the one working. Is it 1022:15E3 or 1022:1637 ?

Thanks for the info Pete.
Looking at https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Slim_Soundbar_SB521A I think you need to correct the "with Netlabs' USB Drivers" to something like "with Netlabs' USB Drivers - latest versions are usually found at https://www.hobbesarchive.com/?search=usbdrv".

Reasons: Earlier Netlabs (Lars) build, v10.250, did not work and the Netlabs page only links to https://hobbesarchive.com/ rather than the location of the latest package - just trying to make it easy for people to find the working drivers.
I had updated:

and

Hardware / Epson L4150 Scanner - USB
« on: October 31, 2024, 06:14:28 pm »
Hello

Yes, I want to try it one more time. I want to see if the embedded scanner in the Epson L4150 printer will work on ArcaOS.
I failed in the past, but I stopped trying - "USB Scanners and ArcaOS"
...and I want to try it before the lights runs out.

Specs:
- Thinkpad T14S
- ArcaOS 5.1.0 UEFI
- AN USB Drivers 12.16
- Installed sane-backends and sane-backends-driver-scanners 1.0.28 from RPM.

Hello

There haven't been any hardware reports, but I understand it. I wanted to try to take some advantage of some free time I have this local holiday (Friday and Monday), since I'm not going anywhere. - maybe next time I get have some money for holiday vacations  ;D

Check out any hardware that you will like to report and let me know.  At Warpstock the Hello Kitty mouse was a people's favorite.  Can you find the mouse buttons? :D
https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hello_Kitty_KT4098_Mouse

Maybe it is good time to see ask for any opinions on how the "Hardware" section of the wiki is organized: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Hardware

Also, I will try my Epson L4150 USB scanner to see if it works.

Comments, Suggestions & Questions / Re: Another bad gif
« on: October 31, 2024, 01:41:16 pm »
Hello Dave

I just replaced the gif file.

So, you think this issue is more about related the video drivers? I thought it was more about how the software renders the image. Is it PMView or other software that can open the gif file spiking up the processor?

Update: I just tried PMView to open the gif and does not spikes up the processor, and if I save it with PMView it fixes the file too. On Firefox this page spikes the processor because I attached also the fault gif. Doodble does not have this issue. Is there a special way (own library or other DLL) how Firefox/Seamonkey renders the gif files?

Hello Dave.

I think I can not change it to PNG because it will be to painful changing the forum script (that I didn't create).

But I can try rebuilding (resaving) this gif and uploading it. I had saved it with GIMP and it's size increased. I will need to test it out with the browser in OS/2. Are you using firefox here? or Dooble?

Programming / Re: VisualAge C++ 3.6.5 (+ Fix2) - WarpIn or RPM?
« on: October 30, 2024, 03:58:28 am »
Hello

I checked the log:

Code: [Select]
20:42:29.82 Created WPS object "Read Me", class "WPProgram", location "<WP_IBMC>", setup "EXENAME=e.exe;PARAMETERS=C:\ibmcxxo\readme.txt;OBJECTID=<IBMCReadme>;"
20:42:29.82 HOBJECT is 0x241BF
20:42:29.89 Executed "CMD.EXE /c cube { RS #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=C:\ibmcxxo# } C:\ibmcxxo:\bin\setenv.cmd (DLM #"

Install log closed.

It seems the issue was here "C:\ibmcxxo:\bin\setenv.cmd" with the extra colon. I removed it and seems to work as a I want.

Now it looks like:
Quote
EXECUTE="cube { RS #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(1)# } $(1)\bin\setenv.cmd (DLM #"

I will keep working the rest of the installer. Thanks Steven.

Hardware / Re: Mouse, Trackpoint, Trackpad, Touchpad - I2C Question
« on: October 29, 2024, 03:18:05 pm »
Thanks Mentore for taking a look at it.

I feel ashamed of myself that I just found out that I2C exists and the wikipedia page says it is from 1982.

Why I want to know more about I2C and be able to take some kind of hardware report from it? I would like to see if just like pci.exe we can recognize the several trackpoint/trackpad brands/moedls like Synaptics, Elan or ALPS that we usually have on Thinkpads.

Hello

  EXECUTE="cube { CL #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(1)# } $(1):\bin\setenv.cmd (DLM #"

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to understand CUBE.

I run it on the command line, since WarpIn didn't showed me any log (or don't know where to see it).

Quote
[C:\IBMCXXO\BIN]cube { CL #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(
1)# } setenv.cmd (DLM #"
CUBE 3.0 applying  CL #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(1)#
 to setenv.cmd on 28 Oct 2024 14:32:54

>>>  CL #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(1)#
Changed line 2
  old: "SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\Ibmcxxo"
  new: "SET CXXMAIN=$(1) SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\Ibmcxxo"
OS/2 COMMAND CUBE ended. 1 changes applied

It seems it didn't replace "SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\Ibmcxxo", it added all the line ""SET CXXMAIN=$(1) SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\Ibmcxxo"

But this one worked for me (from the command line to test):
Quote
EXECUTE="cube { RS #SET CXXMAIN=C:\programs\ibmcxxo# WITH #SET CXXMAIN=$(1)# } setenv.cmd (DLM #"

But it works from the command line, not from the WarpIn installer. I need to check what else I'm missing.

Hello Matt
Got the file and emailed it to you.
Thanks for all your work.
Matt W

Did you send it by email or to the mailing list? I didn't get it yet.
Or just post it here and let me know which device are you reporting.
