Do you talk about bootable hard drive?

Bootable harddrive can't be larger than 500 Gb.

differencies:
* http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X61_Tablet
* http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X60_Tablet

Advantages:
* Chipset is faster, CPU is faster.
* You can activate SATA 2 on X61 Tablet => hard drive works 2x times faster .. for SSD 5x .. 10x times faster.
* You can use N wifi adapter

1) Please don't mention eCo Software when discussing the pirates.

2) To Martin: eCo Software provides all kinds of code: closed source, open source, ..
All our software is clean, we respect the rights of other developers. Our components are verified and distributed with eCS all over the world.

3) eCo Software doesn't deliver products to Sigurd Fastenrath, he can't discuss our products because can't test them.

4) To Doug: Please don't generalize "russians". Our people respect other people's rights, buy licenses.

Hardware / Re: ThinkPad X60 tablet pen & multi-touch support?
« on: January 02, 2014, 02:08:35 pm »
The tablet works fine in Windows so presumably the hardware is enabled.

* Try use official build ACPI TREE, maybe it will show IRQ

* The display of X60 tablet is compatible with X61 Tablet, so existing scripts should work.

* For X61 Tablet: Do you have high resolution screen or multi-touch? yes, multi-touch, so test pentools scripts written for X200

I repeat, better replace the laptop to X61 Tablet, in this case you can install more memory, activate SATA 2 and SSD disk will give you performance increase.

1) Better change laptop to Thinkpad X61 Tablet.

2) I don't know, is it necessary activate COM-port in BIOS setup? Does it influence on Wacom controller or not.

Marketplace / Re: OS/2, software and books on eBay
« on: December 25, 2013, 07:35:38 pm »
I am not happy with the market of OS/2 artefacts:
1) Yes, the sellers offer boxes with floppy disks and CDs
2) the items are ugly, don't attract attention
3) No stories behind this items
4) No computers with OS/2 pre-installed. Thinkpad laptops are separated from OS/2
5) No people behind OS/2, 0 stories and photos with signatures of famous activists.
6) Books relate to old versions of OS/2 and don't attract attention.

You can find several interested users and developers, which need the same feature.
They will update the drivers, make experiments.
Mensys is busy with drivers development and CD1 assembly.

You can boot eCS to command line from USB flash disk.

Some users have bootable .iso images.

As I know, we don't have GUI version of eCS / USB flash disk.

General Discussion / What is the agenda for OS/2 today?
« on: November 15, 2013, 08:46:00 pm »
Hello Martin

What is the agenda for OS/2 today?
IMHO, open-sourcing is the direction, we all agree that the OS should include more open-source components.
But it's not agenda of OS/2.

Agenda for today:
What applications to develop to attract new users, extend the market?
What parts of the OS to improve? to modernize the system.
