Hello

Thanks for the feedback.

Anubis looks interesting, and I tried out the Anubis site on ArcaOS's Firefox, Dooble and Otter.
All three browsers access the "checking you are not a bot page" and access the site fine. Firefox has an exception that didn't support the graphics, but went also to the page. I think it will work for our browsers.

But, a few days ago I had installed BadBot Protection for Joomla, (which also seems to work on our browsers) and I think it is similar, it also shows sometimes a "checking you are not a bot page" on OS2World and for the moment I haven't have issues. But let's see what happens.

BTW I'm back porting software and I'm trying to do something interesting in emulation, electronic and music. Keep fingers crossed 'cause I'm experiencing some problems with CMake.
That's great. Just create a new thread and post the software if you want me to help with some testing.

Hello Mentore

Can you reply asking if they agreed to turn it "as is freeware", if they agree, we can get at least the binaries to be available for free at hobbes.

Regards.

Hello KO Myung-Hun

I'm speechless because I don't know how did you pull that. I can not find any information about BorderWidth in WIN.INI for Windows 3.1

I've sent an email at support @ slickedit. Let's see how this goes.
Thanks for giving it a try.

XAct showed up on a different thread, I had sent an email to "Arnd Beissner".

Graphics and Window Design / EDM/2 Logo Request
« on: November 02, 2025, 03:36:45 pm »
Hello David

Here I have a request. I think we need a new logo for the EDM/2 wiki.  I want to give an idea to Adrian to see if he approves the change.

Here it is the latest logo for reference. Do you think you can please help me out with some ideas. If you can generate the logo in vectorial (SVG) format it will be desirable.

Applications / Re: Lost / Missing Software for OS/2

Hello Mike

I can try to find and contact the developers/owners of "Scilab GmbH, Hamburg". But I was not able to find the name of the people involved in that company. I think I found out that "Arnd Beissner", cause of a interview I found on the "OS/2 Warp Monthly Newsletter". If you have any other names of the "Scilab GmbH, Hamburg" I can give it a try.

I got this info:

Hello

I'm trying some available tools to try to slow down the bots spamming the site.
Please let me know any strange behavior that you may find on the site.

Virtualization / Re: Win-OS/2 - Open vbesvga.drv video driver
« on: October 27, 2025, 09:55:09 pm »
Hello

There was a new release  (2025-10-27) of this Windows 3.1 driver for the brave that wants to give it a try.

Quote
This release finally fixes booting in Enhanced Mode on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti, and presumably on the GTX 980 as well! 🥳

It also fixes a bad assumption about bitmap segments which goes all the way back to the Video7 driver, which was known back in the 90s and caused random crashes in Oregon Trail II, and possibly a few other games / programs.

There are also a few tweaks to VIDMODES.COM.

Enjoy! 😄

Like it was discussed before, it seem that this driver is more useful for people running Win-OS/2 on VMs than on real hardware. But everyone is free to try it out (remember to backup the older files). In my case it fixes an issue that on Win-OS/2 full screen, I was only able to move the mouse in half of the screen.

Programming / Re: VisualAge COBOL 2.2 on ArcaOS or Warp 4.52
« on: October 25, 2025, 05:56:50 pm »
Hello

This is interesting. I would like to put the info and recommendations on this thread and upload it to hobbes.

Robert, if you have any COBOL for OS/2 sample that you want to share, let me know to upload it to this Github account: https://github.com/orgs/OS2World/repositories?q=COBOL
I have some COBOL samples there, but I had never try to compile those, and I don't know if Microfocus COBOL samples are useful for your.

Hello.
@Martin: would you see any issues in uploading these drivers to Hobbesarchive ? I am not the legal expert ...
Usually these kind of drivers were shared in BBS and Shareware CD-ROMs, like a lot of the content that is already in Hobbes. I haven't found anything on the readme files that restrict their distribution.

I had uploaded both under the same of "Xircom_CreditCardIIps_" with the respective reference to the original file name and the saying on the description that it includes CE2ODI.OS2 and CE2NDIS.OS2 so it can be searchable by those names too.
