Title: Printer Question!
Post by: R.M. Klippstein on April 25, 2015, 06:03:34 pm
Is there such a thing as a color Laser Printer, (preferable with scanner) that installs and works without problems on OS/2-eCS?

thanks, klipp

Yes,  I'm using HP2025 with the ps-drivers supplied with eCS.
Have a separate HP8250 for scanning using Tame.
Guess you have to use CUPS for a MFC.

Hi klipp

i suspect you will have to do some investigating to answer your question  :-)

This mfc looks like it *may* suit your needs http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=B3Q10A&opt=B19&sel=PRN#merch-tech-specs

Good luck on your mfc hunt - and let us know how you get on.

Regards

Pete

Has anybody bought the Hewlett Packard m252dw Color laser printer? It looks like it should work, but I'm done buying printers that don't work with OS/2. I would like to know other people have used them without problems before I buy another one.

Thanks for any replies   klipp

Not really what you're asking for but I've a HP OfficeJet PRO X476. This is my first inkjet after circumvent this technology since it appears about 20 years ago. Reasons why I choose an inkjet for the first time are
- less cost per page than even lasers (regarding various tests in magazines)
- Postscript and PCL
- Scanner with ADF
- all in one device which can be used for scanning and copying without computer
- still hope HP delivers some level of quality and durability (my current Xerox unfortunately did not last very long)

Hi, I am using a HP LaserJet Pro 200 M276n e-All-in-One with CUPS. Works well, accepts PS for printing, scans documents into a SAMBA shared Folder.

Thanks Per, Andi & Michael for you're replies. Unfortunatly none of the printers you mentioned are available here in Mexico. I did just buy a H.P. CP 1025 which I was fairly sure would work! BUT it looks like I've just bought another "Boat Anchor". It doesn't even work with Linux, let alone OS\2. PER, if you are reading this post, could be a little more descriptive as to how you got you're H.P. cp 2025 to work? Which eCS supplied  PS Driver did you use and did you install as USB? I'd appreciate any more information you could supply as I might be able to get my hands on a cp 2025.

Thanks again  klipp

I have a brother HL-4150CDN working with a color postscript printer driver here. It has a few quirks now and again, but otherwise it does a great job.
