 Hey Dave,

The latest version of Dooble adds a 3rd column to the search engines page at the bottom: 'Syntax' where you can define a prefix to a search to specify the engine to use. I notice it does not exist in your QT5 version, but it does exist (but doesn't work - can't add engines) in Paul's QT6 version. Maybe I need to try new profiles...

Regards,

EDIT: New profiles don't help...

Works as good as the last one here... YouTube still doesn't work though...

I did check the videos on https://tools.woolyss.com/html5-audio-video-tester/ and everything that should work does work (no H.263, H.265 or MPEG-4) except the 'Chimera-AV1...' mp4 video with no sound - it starts, but then hangs, but the browser and system are still responsive. My gut feeling is that YouTube hangs the system because of Javascript problems, not video.

And just BTW... in the QT5 version of Dooble YouTube works just fine...

 Hey Paul,

Don't really see much change with the 20230222 version of QT6Webee - wwwYouTube.com locks up the system after rendering the page, and googling a YouTube video, then trying to play starts playing, then quickly locks the system. So no silent exit at least...

Hi Bernhard,

I have the same problem... cannot access Windows 11 servers anymore. About a week ago there was a Windows update, after which I could not connect with the OS/2 version of FreeRDP. Seems Windows clients work though. Might have to play around with settings...

 Hey Paul,

Yeah, I'm using qt6-6.2.4-os2-20230214.zip with qt6webee-20230216.zip. I got your special libcn0.dll and put it in C:\usr\local\lib, rebooted, then started the QT6 Dooble, did a google search on 'Plimsouls Million Miles Away', double clicked on the YouTube video offered, Dooble disappeared and a triple beep was heard.
A trap file was created in C:\qt6\bin (where QT6 and Dooble resides) - attached.

Regards,

BTW - plays fine in QT5 Dooble...

Paul,

With latest qt6webee I still can't go to https://www.youtube.com without locking the system immediately. If I google search a video, then go to it the ad will play, but as soon as I hit 'skip ads' Dooble disappears from the screen...

Thanks, Tellie for QtTube! I can run it, and log in, but all searches fail. Even a search on 'Cats' :-)

Hey Paul,

Thanks for adding H.264 support! Don't know if you noticed, but if you click on the description of a feature on the html5test result, you get a popup that shows the status (stable, experimental, etc.), point value, and 'compare' which in turn goes to a page that shows which browsers support the feature. There are several items that are supported by Chrome (with stable status), but not enabled in our Dooble.

Here, I can reliably get a system hang going to https://www.youtube.com . Tried capturing stdout and stderr using your example and went to youtube (which immediately hung the system), but after a <ctrl><alt><num-lock><num-lock>, stdout and stderr were both 0 bytes (<ctrl><alt><del> doesn't work when Dooble hangs).

I can provide a system dump from one of these hangs if you ever need one.

OK - I see that too briefly, then the score comes up. Are you using any kind of blocker or HOSTS file that might interfere, or proxy? If so, maybe disable temporarily to test...

Hi Tellie,

Does it just show a blank page? Are you sure Javascript is enabled? The site needs Javascript to run, but at least here, if not enabled I get a message saying to enable it. Might want to try a new profile too.

Paul,

I'm proud to say that here Dooble on OS/2 using QT5 gets a score of 522! Dooble using QT6 gets 519... those Linux guys need to step up their game :-)

Hi Martin,

Did you turn off the splash screen on Dooble start? If so, try turning it back on, then restart Dooble. Here I can't render any page without the splash screen for some weird reason...

Thanks, Paul... https://html5test.com works now - Nice detective work! Oddly, the QT6 version of Dooble gives a slightly lower score than the QT5 one...

Rick,

<ALT>-F1 brings up a menu when hit at the OS/2 'boot blob'.
