Hi,

After updating Dynamic Icons to 2.5.6, I found bugs !
After any boot, main Lotus smartsuite and IBM works folders have they icon lost.
I have to open folder and close it to get the correct icon folder back and this bug occurs after each reboot....

How to correct ?

Yes, and OpenSSH looks promising but unfortunately I would need a frontend for it.
I could do with a cmd-line version, however there is another user who refuses to use anything that has no GUI.

If you have some knowledge with rexx, use drdialog and create a GUI (frontend) to issue command but of course, for a nice GUI with a lot of function it will need a lot of work and better to find some shh gui if exist.

Create dialogs to get needed information to issue the sftp command using a "get" or what else named button which will issue the command (as detach command)  with pipe mode, get messages back from the pipe into an other dialog until end of sftp process.

Other option: Did you have a look on OpenSSH ?

You can give a try to FireFTP addon (it will work under our latest firefox or seamonkey.
I have it under firefox OS/2 (ArcaOS 5.1.1) and often use it.

It looks like this addon is allready available directly from fireftp.net link =>  https://github.com/mimecuvalo/fireftp/releases
Just tested he latest and 2.0.32 works too.

Note: if addon installed is refused for not signed addon under firefox, you can set under about:config
xpinstall.signatures.required to false

It's a fairly small computer, https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Lenovo_ThinkCentre_M910s_-_10ML and likely no room in it for a water cooler. I have picked up a small (40mm?) fan to stick in the front, have to figure out the wiring as the fan has 3 wires and the header has 4 wires, also picked up a heat sink for the NVMe. Have to take it apart and add the components and clean it again. I use wood heat and the house is dusty:)
I also see that actually the CPU was faster then I mentioned, 3.4/3.8GHz.
It's a nice little computer, was C$80 used with no storage. Going to a lot of similar on the market as it is just a hair too old to run Win 11 being released in 2019.

May be you can change the ventirad (heat sink)
e.g. be quiet! Pure Rock LP   (very low profile but a high tdp value (100w) - your cpu is 65w  (this should reduce a lot max temperature)
The high should be good, you may check if the scare width of 92mm is okk too and that it didn't touch ram slots.

I give a try on this latest uniaudio driver. Well, it seems to work very well and better as the AOs 5.1.1 provided one !

Hi !

I agree, Paul did a very big and great job on QT6, webengine and the browser is very near to be usable all day.
I'm retired with some health problems and have missing knowledge in the language used for QT6 and OS2 API

I'm sure that the free low shared memory issue, some silent crashes can be quickly resolved by a developer from ArcaNoae.
May be some issue could be connected with usb or audio drivers (interrupt handing?) - it mostly occurs when moving my usb mouse pointer or viewing youtube videos.

As announced in the UNIAUD thread I created a video about Paul Smedleys great success so far with bringing Sound on the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2024 alive.

Thanks Paul!

YOu can watch it here:

Subtitles in different languages are available as this video is produced in German.

Hope you enjoy! All the best,

Sigurd

Critics and suggestions welcome!!

Hi !

I see you have Multithreading (SMT)  enabled !  (16 threads at OS/2 boot while this AMD proc has 8 cores )
Is it stable for you while it is recommended not using Multithreading (SMT) ?

Thanks! I downloaded and followed Martin's instructions and I have dooble-QT6 running.

Interesting observation: I wondered if I was missing some depenencies, so I ran PMDLL Qt6WebEn.dll

PMDLL does not do anything useful after that. Maybe it was never intended to work on such a complex DLL.

High Neil !

Know you having installed same build as I have and assume loaded highmem dlls.
I suppose on a SMP system.

Could you give a try opening up to 6 tabs using following links and monitor free shared low memory size after each full loaded tab. Thanks

How was the low shared memory use issue resolved under QT5 ?
was any changes introduced into QT6 which could impact spawn, parent etc... ?

The reality is that you have as much knowledge of the OS/2 API as I do.....

I only know Rexx programming and web php/html/css

Any idea how to go forward with this memory issue ?
As I wrote it, only the QT6 build has this problem. QT5 is ok

Other problem.

I've found a site making Dooble close each time!
process used:  (using duckduckgo as default search engine)
entre wuwt  into the link field + enter
duckduckgo opens and first found entry is whattsupwiththat.com
Clic on this first found entry and wuwt start to load....
Wait until end of load.... before the end, Dooble closes

Which version of Dooble are you using? In the upstream version 2025.02.08 Duckduckgo and Google were "removed".

As you could read from the post - (all QT6 6.2.x and Dooble at latest available build level), I already posted a screenshot with build version

Duckduckgo and Google are only removed from been used by the url input link or browser direct search entries but it isn't if you go to duckduckgo or google site and issue a search. You have the same result in any cases and no need to use a search engine, just type in the direct link of the site.
