Title: anpm question problem DUMPPROC / PROCDUMP
Post by: roberto on September 29, 2016, 10:35:17 am
In other pc when I want to update, give me this error:
Executing: @python D:\TOOLS\ANPM\scripts\yum_update.py libc-0.6.6-30.oc00.i686

Killed by SIGABRT
pid=0x007c ppid=0x007b tid=0x0001 slot=0x001e pri=0x0200 mc=0x0001 ps=0x0010
D:\USR\BIN\PYTHON.EXE
Process dumping was disabled, use DUMPPROC / PROCDUMP to enable it.
Return code: 0

In all the packages that I want to update is the same error message.
What I can made with dumpproc? and how.

Don't worry about PROCDUMP, yet.

How did you install RPM/YUM? If it was with eCS 2.2b2, there is a bad module that prevents updating. Carefully follow the directions at: https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/anpm/non-updated-systems/ (https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/anpm/non-updated-systems/) to see if something there helps.

Hello
This is a Dell pc, that give me many problems with OS2, IBM and HP run much better with OS2, in general.
The anmp program is run very well, all the problems well in with the RPM/YUM, but I am using anpm.
The web site that you proposed, with arca instructions, in this pc, I run long time, and solve the problems.
But now do not update.
I am think, that a solution can be a restore the usr, etc, var from other pc that is runing well, and search the duplicates dlls, but I not sure of this.

The easiest is to delete or backup the "usr" and "etc" subdirectories.
I seem to remember that if you then run ANPM it will ask you if you want to download and install the YUM/RPM base package. Answer with yes and your "usr" and "etc" subdirectories will be properly recreated.
Once that is done, rerun ANPM and follow all of the instructions in the link that Doug has already posted and start updating all the packages that show up as outdated (there will be quite a lot).
The nice thing is that once you have all that done, you will not have any problems with ANPM in the future.

Your problem is due to some hosed python installation. I had the very same problem and I fixed it the way I stated above.

If you use ANPM to install a new RPM/YUM (after removing the current one, including /etc /usr AND /var) you won't have the problem, but you are starting over so you do need to install everything that you will need.

Thanks
Indeed this is the best solution, but it is the second time I've had to do in this pc.
On other occasions I deleted etc, usr, and var. But in this case I deleted only etc, and usr. Prebius backup all folders.
He settled ok. But some packages were not the latest version, and coreutils failure to update me with an error -2 already known. But it says installed. I restore the system and I think this ok. In fact this is the first time I've been able to install other packages
