Hello
Are you able to use multiple CPU's? with the 5.0.x additions? How about USB devices?
- I don't use Multiple CPUs with VirtualBox, just one. In the past it was unstable for me, but I haven't tried it lately.
- I think USB drivers used to work, but I have to check it out again. I have an USB mic that I used on the VM, but I don't remember if it is recognized as USB or SoundBlaster input in ArcaOS. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhqUc0VLqok)

I use all the 5.0.x Addons package, if I mix them I get problems with the VBoxService.exe executable. And also Valerius says on the instructions to put "RUN=c:\os2additions\VBoxService.exe" on the config.sys.

I hope that Valerius can try to update his Addons with the latest VirtualBox code someday.

Regards

Hello

Here it is working, host Win 10, guest ArcaOS 5.1. Virtualbox 7.1.0 (Recently installed)

But I'm using Valery's Guest Addons 5.0.x, since they provide me WPS support for shared folders with the guest. Is this integration already available on the official addons? I haven't checked those in a while.

Sorry, no Linux experience here.

t could perhaps be a way for Warpstock to bring in the remote folks (and get them up to parity with being there?), and a way for others and I to officially support the Warpstock conferences, if we can't actually get there in person in a given year ...

Thanks a good suggestion. We already talked about on the Warpstock board in the past but I will insist on this idea on the next meeting.

Hi JTA
IRC ... seems to require "yet another logon account and login process".
IRC on Libera chat does not requiere any login and password.

Try https://web.libera.chat/#Warpstock by yourself, you only put your nickname and that's all.
You can later use the chatbot if you want to reserve your nickname with a password, but that is completely optional.

Hello JTA

If there is an speaker that would like to make remote session, we usually do it with Skype. Is you interest to give a presentation remotely? Please contact Neil to set you a time slot.

From the side of the viewer, I usually take question from the IRC channel on Libera chat. https://web.libera.chat/#Warpstock or point your IRC client to irc://irc.libera.chat/#Warpstock.

Thanks for the reply Dave.
I celebrate the effort of porting it, even if it is not as good as we all want, we need to start with something  ;D

Hello

I'm running Otter on a ArcaOS 5.1 VM guest. I haven't touched anything related to ACPI.

Testing it a little bit further, I got a problem with github repos, like: https://github.com/OS2World/UTIL-ARCHIVER-QuickWPI
It is like it does not stop loading, the bottom bar remains in 100% but does not goes away like it uses to when it finish loading a page.

On the console I get:
Code: [Select]
Unimplemented code.
qt.qpa.mime: isDelayed true
qt.qpa.mime: convert to format f63d "text/unicode" flags 400 data 0 isDelayed tr
ue ok true
qt.qpa.mime: convert to format 1 "#1" flags 400 data 0 isDelayed true ok true
qt.qpa.mime: convert to format 1 "#1" flags 400 data 10ed0000 isDelayed false ok
 true
Later it crashes with the log I'm attaching.

General Discussion / Re: OS/2 Box Collection Wiki - Questions

Hi
It sounds like you'll very likely have them all though since mine will all be either English (UK) or English (US) versions.
What it will be helpful, if you have  it in your collection and can easily identified which version are English (UK) or English (US), please double check if the I had mark them correctly on the Wiki.

Hello Mark
Detailed instructions on how to do all that are present in the PDF attached called Testing Guide for UniAud32. It is the last version I created (v1.2) as I got too busy after that to do any more updates to a variety of Testing Guides.
Can I have your permission to post your PDF content on the OS2World wiki?

Utilities / Re: Booting OS/2 with an Animation
« on: September 13, 2024, 10:09:20 pm »
Hello Richard.
The start of the animation sequence (little OS/2 logos then the main centre logo) was also present in at least OS/2 2.1 wasn’t it?

My first OS/2 was Warp 3, and I haven't played with the 2.x version enough. Maybe that is why I found it interesting, since I never have a boot animation in my OS/2.  ;D

Hello

Yes, it is interesting as a tool and it is always required to check it out the response.
For me it is like the marketing guy that you need to review his stuff before publishing what he says.  ;D

But for me it is interesting tool that can give you some inspiration and ideas. Good for brainstorming.

Hello Richard.

First of all I'm sorry for the way the OS2World wiki is organized. The good and bad thing of a wiki is that it allows you to create articles freely, and sometimes you forget about the structure. The way I know to create organization structure on the Wiki is 1)Linking the pages 2) With pages categories.

1) Linking the Pages
I tried to like the boxes to the main page of the OS/2 version.
-- Like: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=IBM_OS/2_Warp_3
There you can see links to part numbers and you will get to the media box page.

2) The Articles Category
For each box I had set a category based in the OS/2 version
-- Like: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:IBM_OS/2_Warp_3
And it is also good. Because what if I have some picture of a Warp 3 box and I don't have the part number to link it right, so, I just put there on the [[Category:IBM OS/2 Warp 3]]. (Ex. the Finnish version of Warp 3)

What I'm missing are the overseas version of OS/2 in different languages.

Just imagine that years ago we could not get all those picture because of the low resolution of the cameras and big image file sizes. Now we can have all the details of the box online.
