Hi!

As previously stated, I have next to no programming knowledge.

I've love to have the flrig program (or suite of programs) available on ArcaOS for use of amateur radio.  Seems to be mostly written in C++ and is available on Windows, MacOS and Linux platforms now.  Any idea if this would be complex to port over?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/fldigi/

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi,

I want to try to add wifi to my HP laptop that might be supported under ArcaOS 5.0.7....  Are there any and if so, what brand/model or chipset should I look for?

Thanks much!!

I found a tutorial..

javaw.exe -jar <minecraftfile.jar>

Gets error "Could not find the main class:  net.minecraft.client.Main.  Program will exit."

Ah well, had to try.  :)

Well, there's a whole bunch of other folders for it on my Windows machine... maybe I'll try copying all of it over and mess around a bit.  Will reply back later.

Hi all,

Ok don't fire me...  does OS/2-ArcaOS have a new enough Java to run Minecraft?

I tried copying the jar file off but couldn't get the syntax to get it to try to run....

Thanks......  We play a lot of Minecraft at our house.  :)

Here's the pci.exe output for the Dell laptop.

Dell Latitude D630
BIOS A02
Intel Core 2 Duo processor 1.2GHz
Windows XP vintage machine
1280x800 display

BIOS Setting:  "SATA Operation" set to "ATA"----I changed this back to AHCI and the computer is loading the AHCI driver per pci.exe.... so this one could work with AHCI I think.

Does recognize and looks to be using 2 processors.
Wired ethernet works, wireless does not.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I'm not sure what the capabilities of Dooble are supposed to be (I just asked how to get a binary for Windows as I'm not a programmer) but it'd be great to be able to use the Microsoft Office 365 web applications on OS/2-ArcaOS.  I'm using Dooble 2022.10.15, X.  i386 build.  Qt version 5.15.2.  I'm running ArcaOS 5.0.7.

I can log into https://login.microsoftonline.com successfully and almost get to the www.office.com like dashboard..but the browser crashes after most elements load.

Any way I can test it further or gather any information to help troubleshoot?

Thanks so much for the time!!

Hi..  I have some brand new HP Z2 G9 workstations that I can try ARCA OS on... but I need UEFI support first (I know, I know, it's coming!).  Can't switch to BIOS mode on these new ones it appears.

Has Intel Core i7-12700 in it. 12th gen.

Personally I think WIFI is the biggest thing, followed by multiple monitor support, and then USB-C accessories.

Thank you for work on any of the hardware!!

Ok here's one text file of the output of pci.exe from a machine.

HP Folio 9470m laptop
HP Part Number:  D3K33UT#ABA

Intel Core I7-3687U 2.1GHz
12GB RAM

BIOS Settings Changed:
SecureBoot is disabled
Boot Mode is set to Legacy
SATA Device Mode set to IDE

Let me know if this is good and if any other info about the machine would be helpful.  Thanks.

Hi!

I'm sorry, it is 5.0.7 I'm using. I'll update the original post.  I apologize for the confusion.

I'll work to get the pci.exe output for you too.

I find I almost always have to turn of AHCI for the drive to be seen in the installer.  Sometimes need to turn off Hyperthreading too.  I'll document what BIOS changes I had to make for each system too.

Thanks.  I appreciate a lively bunch and glad people are active out there!
