Hallo Igor,

I think I know now where the problem is. It is in the scanning of the usb descriptors.  Please send me the "lsusb -d 09da:2695 -v" report of your camera.

Wim
Hi Wim,

Hi Igor,

Let me try. I have some questions for you to answer first...

1. Are you using ArcaOS or eComStation or what? Which version?
2. Are you using ArcaOS or Lars Erdmann drivers? Which version?
3. Is this camera the only camera connected to your system?
4. Does your laptop have a builtin camera? Is it enabled in the bios?
5  What version of webcam.exe are you using?

Following Remy's suggestion /dN you select the proper camera to be used.
So "webcam /d09DA:2695:0100 /a" forces to use the proper camera.

Following Remy's suggestion /iN you reduce video bandwidth.
So "webcam /d09DA:2695:0100 /a /i1 uses less video bandwidth.

Wim

Hi Wim,
1. I use ArcaOS 5.0.7
2. ArcaOS drivers 12.11
3. Is this the only camera in USB interface
4. This is desktop computer
5  W.M.Brul:00.20210214
Specify on the command line "/d09DA:2695:0100" leads to this error:
Code: [Select]
started.
format:yuyv
 acquire webcam
 set configuration
 negotiate video format
 obtain video format
 commit video format
 set video alt interface
[0000804C]
obtain video error.

At the same time, the launch of the program with the "webcam /a /n" parameters allows you to view the video from the camera.

Off Topic discussions / Re: Russia attacked Ukraine
« on: February 25, 2022, 12:04:05 pm »

I was tempted to contact of our Russian community friends just know like "a  man in the street" point of view, but I was advice not to do that to protect themself in case they are not in favor of the Russian government.

Russia is not know for their freedom of speech on these days, communications may be monitored, and it is better not to put them in trouble.
In Russia, military censorship will be introduced. Participants of anti-war rallies are delayed and imprisoned.

Nevertheless, I urge to take care of the Ukrainians because they have a chance to die.

No war!

To my great regret, Russia began this war. I sincerely wish the courage to the inhabitants of Ukraine and want the world rather came.

Wonder if a bootable Linux stick would recognize it?
If possible, a link to where to get and how to make such a stick.

Did you try booting the machine with a ZIP diskette in the drive?
I remember, DOS never gave a letter to the drive, but the diskette, when using the IDE ZIP100 drive.

Perhaps it's the same with OS/2. Leave the disk inserted, and restart. - Does it have a drive letter now?
I tried to download the operating system having a diskette in the drive. This does not result.
I changed the definition of the device as a floppy disk. It did not help, and I recognize that the drive may simply spoil during this time. Until now, I have no opportunity to check the device's performance. And will this opportunity arise - it is not known.

Ivan's question is not about broken floppies.
It's about "kicking" the drive to read the disk when you insert a new disk.
I remember that I had a hell of a time to get that to work correctly. I wish AN much fun with it :-).

I also want them to cope.  :)

Hi Igor

I'm sorry but I don't understand your problem. Is it that the first time it reads the floppy and when you refresh the drive window does not reload it (reread).?

When you click on the floppy drive icon, it does not appeal and re-read the disk. Only for AN USB.
The initial reading of the disk occurs only when loading the system. After changing the disk, the FAT from the previous one can be recorded on it. This spoils the data on the disk.

Are you using the AN USB drivers or the Lars his USB drivers ?

Roderick
Problem only exists in the AN USB version.
Lars USB are working correctly.

I ran into a problem. USB drive of floppy disks does not reread the floppy disk when accessing the disk. In the 16-bit version, everything works successfully.
What can be done to solve the problem?

Igor,

I have an IDE Zip disk on an eComStation machine.  The motherboard does not have an IDE interface so I am using an expansion card with an IDE interface.  I have attached my config.sys in hopes it might be helpful.  I do not remember making any changes to my config.sys in order for the drive, or expansion card, to work - but it was a few years ago.

Thank you for your help. I will try to translate the device into floppy mode and then inform about the result.
