Hi Andi. B

I installed latest warpin package on a fairly fresh ArcaOS beta. I still have no sound on this system. Think I never had sound. If yes then it must have been a very old uniaud but I don't remember. Attached the logs. Maybe you see what's going wrong.

I checked some other hardware reports and there are ones that says that "8086:8C20 - Intel 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio Controller" works with Uniaud. Maybe is the config.sys that David M says, or some other trick with unimix.exe.

It is as "DEVICE=G:\MMOS2\UNIAUD32.SYS /v /A:0" maybe it is "/A:1"

Andi, which is the Brand/model of you mainboard ? or machine and model if it is a retail machine. I want to check if was previously reported and include it on the wiki if applies.

Hardware / Re: DOS Window Woes

I don't have a solution, I tried to document this at the OS2World Wiki, but I don't have a final solution.

I was wondering what component is the one to blame for this, if it is "VSVGA.SYS" or any other driver that is getting old.

I have hopes on the UEFI drivers that needed to be updated for the VDOS sessions (VDM) to work on newer systems.

On facebook there is this A20 Gate issue installing ArcaOS from Joseph. He opened a ticket without a way to resolve it yet.

Do you think that this will be fixed with the UEFI support in beta stage?
Any idea of the cause? some says it is the keyboard.

I will try to change some settings on the site to see if this problems goes away.

Note 1: What I did didn't change anything. Trying different things.

Hi Eugene.
Well stil not crashes but no sound and unimix no longer wil even come up.
Can you confirm the pci.exe report of your mainboard? On an older post you said it is a "Gigabyte MB with a Sound Blaster Recon chip", but can you please post the PCI report  and mainboard model?

Please also provide this log "copy alsahlp$ alsalog.txt".

Linux sound code updated to 5.10.50 level -

I tested it again with ArcaOS 5.0.6 VM guest on VBox 6.1.22 (Windows 10 host).
- VM ICH AC97: Works, Audio control working, no traps.
- VM Intel HD Audio: Produce audio, but gives looping sound at end. Audio control working, no traps. (VirtualBox bug Ticket 20273 supposedly fixed on upcoming 6.1.23 version)

Thanks again Paul for this update.

Bitwise works has raise from "44880 €" on 2021-06-06 to "46045 €" at 2021-07-07. The goal is 49000 € and I think we are getting close to it.

Applications / Re: FeatherPad for OS/2

Hi Andreas

If I execute:
Code: [Select]
featherpad c:\config.sysIt does not open the config.sys file on the app. I guess it is an app limitation then.

Just some a little issue wiht FeatherPad. I don't know if it is from the program or the WPS.

I created a WPS object called "FeatherPad" on the desktop, and assigned this object the association "Plain Text". When I double click a plain text file (like a txt), it opens FeatherPad but not the .txt file inside the app.

Applications / Re: Creating some apps RPM packages
« on: July 05, 2021, 03:23:29 pm »

On a different, but related issue. There are two SDL runtime packages on netlabs RPM server, SDL and sdl. I wanted to see if it is possible to remove the "sdl" (lowercase) but I got this reply on the trac ticket that it would be good to search for the specs that are using "sdl" (lowercase), update them (or as the author to update it) and then we can remove "sdl" from the Netlabs RPM.

Is there a fast way to search on the rpm server which packages depends on the "sdl" (lowercase) ?

Setup & Installation / Re: OS/2 installation on IBM T43 (intel based)
« on: July 03, 2021, 07:19:17 pm »
Hi G, welcome to the forum.

I think that you can install OS/2 Warp 4.52 from the boot CD on a T43 without any major issue. After that you may asset how good or bad does it works. What is missing, and at that point you may have to install the proper  fixpack and drivers to get the best experience on your Thinkpad T43.

- I tried to list the latest fixpacks and drivers for OS/2 Warp 4.52 here.
- Maybe for the ATI card on the T43 you will need the Scitech Snap Drivers (freeeware)
- The Lenovo site still have the Audio driver for T43, but maybe yoou also want to try some later versions or Uniaud.

If you have the T43, start the install procedure and post here your progress.

Thanks Dave for giving it a try.  Here it is the TRP file I'm getting.

Are you using Netlabs RPM SDL to compile it (SDL_develop) or are you using the Digi's SDL to compile it?

Please, can it be possible for someone to recompile XRick without the SDDHELP$ dependecy? (it requires SDL).
Here it is the source code:
