  I haven't done FLAC to WAV myself, but VLC has the capability (supposedly).

  I tried uvcview.exe in multi CPU mode, and I get a frozen image in about a minute. With MAXCPU=1 it was still running after an hour.

 Just to make sure there was not some problem with the most recent USB drivers, I went back to the original Weblook/Webview (that uses the USBECD.SYS driver) and it ran for 30 minutes with no freeze. Switched back to the most recent Weblook/Webview (that uses USBRESMG.SYS) and the freezes were back in about a minute.

 Then I set ACPI.PSD /MAXCPU=1 and rebooted, and it seems the freezes are gone (after 10 minutes). Doesn't this seem to point at USBRESMG.SYS having an issue with multiple CPU's?

  Wim,

  I'm using a dual processor i3 CPU. Tried the newest version and still get the same behaviour... freeze after about a minute. If there is some kind of logging that can be done, I'd be glad to do it...

I doubled the number of isochronous buffers in weblook.exe  and I replaced WebseeBeta1.zip on my website. I hope that helps.

  It doesn't seem to make any difference, the behaviour is exactly the same...

 Thanks...I tried this new Beta with a Logitech C250. This cam worked well with your last version. With the new beta, it works for about 90 seconds, then the picture freezes. If I then close and re-open Webview, the image is black. I need to restart weblook to get video again - I can even leave webview open and the video un-freezes when I restart weblook.

  Just in case someone decides to go right for version 1.7.2...

  The cups-filters package (required for 1.7.2) requires a copy of cups15.dll from the cups 1.5.4 package....

 What type of printer are you trying to print to? How is it attached?

 If you are certain you have the latest updates (which corrects the truncation issue), you could just try deleting, then re-installing your printer in the CUPS web interface. Assuming that works (print test page), then take the ppd in \cups\etc\cups\ppd and import it into the OS/2 postscript printer and install a new printer object (you could use Alex's CUPSWIZ - will do it automatically).

  Check the contents of the 2 files and see if either ends with a line something like this:

*% End of hp-deskjet_990c.ppd, 22550 bytes.

  If not, the file is probably truncated. I seem to remember an issue with an earlier version of CUPS that would truncate ppd's, but it is a little hazy now...

  Do you have a ppd file in \cups\etc\cups\ppd? That is the one CUPS uses. Check its contents to see if it might be truncated too.... If it is, and one of the other ones you mention is not, try copying the 'good' (not truncated) one into \cups\etc\cups\ppd (save the old ones!).

  Did you update your pstoraster file to point at Ghostscript? Also, you need to make sure C:\cups\sbin is on your libpath in order for printing from any QT based app to work. Did you get all required apps from the same location (ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/ecups/install)? Make sure there is only one version of cups.dll on your system. You also might want to give Ghostscript 9.10 a try... it has been working well with CUPS here... Based on the Lucide errors you show, maybe you are missing a required font? (not sure how to determine that though...).

  Just a few thoughts off the top of my head...

  Thanks for the link to the new kernel. It seems to work well here (Intel H55 chipset, i3 processor, Intel video, 4GB RAM). I do still get a POPUPLOG from DMISL.EXE on boot that I don't get with the IBM kernel, but so far there is no noticeable problem from that.

  I was wondering if this kernel can make use of Hyperthreading? Also, what does the new screen03.sys driver add? It would be good if the package came with a description of the enhancements the new kernel provides. Don't be shy about blowing your horn a little bit... it may make more people decide to try it....8-)

  Usually there are lights on the ethernet plug that indicate the speed the NIC detects it can connect to the hub/switch/router it is attached to. Is the indicated speed changing from time to time? Maybe the NIC is detecting its connection differently each time...
