Thanks, I didn't even think of 7z.
IMG is not listed as supported on 7-zip.org but it did work under win10, will check OS/2 version later.

Unfortunately trying to mount the img results in error "Image file is not in ISO format".
DFSee seems to create *.imz files, don't know if the are the same as *.img. Don't see any option to extract files and
since DFSee is an advanced tool I don't take the risk to test things I know too little about.

Hi,

Anyone knows about a tool for extracting files from a *.img file?

I don't think so since some SQL statements works just fine. The problem is with statements containing "INNER JOIN" and "JOIN".
Also the these statements work correctly with DBExpert.

Could be but the SQL statement I use in VX-Rexx is identical to the one that works with DBExepert.
Other simpler SQL statements work fine. If VX-Rexx is adding something it must be "behind the scenes"
and not visible to the user.
I can work around the issue by duplicating some data in a few tables, however first I'd like to know
if anyone else has had the same problem, and hopefully a solution.

Programming / SQL VX-Rexx
« on: April 10, 2023, 08:25:26 pm »
Hi,

I have a sql query created with DBExpert, and it works fine in DBE.

When trying to use the same SQL statement in VX-Rexx I get this error:

[ODBC dBase driver] [dBase] Extra characters at end of query: JOIN.

VX-Rexx is set up to use the same odbc driver as DBExpert so I suspect that VX-Rexx is "doing"
something to the sql statement before sending it to the driver.
(Simple SQL statements without "JOIN" works fine with VX-Rexx.)

Has anyone experience with this?

Maybe, AN is now putting the emphasis on business customers, then they do not have the need for a working browser.
As a "business user" I can confirm that we definitely need a working browser.

Do you happen to know which file(s) I need to modify?
I've been looking through a lot of files in my  ghostscript folder but I have not found any that has entries like  8#345 etc.

Thank you, Thomas.

That code adds correct text to the pdf's.
By the way, I opened the font file at a couple of online "font editors", but could not find a way to make any adjustments for octal values.

What version of GS are you using on Linux?

Just noticed this ticket, maybe it solves the problem finding font files.
(I'm using gs9.15, installed from zip-file.)

Thanks, when using \361 and \371 I get the correct characters.
Found a table with octal codes for "Standard+" and it shows \375 for "Å" and \376 for "å", unfortunately GS produces blank spaces with these codes.
Any suggestions for an application that can be used for "opening" the font file to see how it's coded and possibly reencode it?

According to source.ps they should come from NimbusSanL-Bold.

Did some more tests with a new pdf, but still the same problem.

The files I'm using are attached.

source.pdf
source.ps - had to rename it to source.txt since *.ps is cannot be uploaded
result.pdf

Using following command:
gsos2 -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=result.pdf source.ps -f source.pdf

Hi,

I'm using gsos2 to add text to pdf-files and it has worked fine until I had to insert some special Norwegian characters.
Instead of inserting the characters æ, ø and å it creates blank spaces. (The ps-file that gsos2 uses for adding the text
shows the special characters correctly.)
The third line in the attached test.pdf is added by gsos2, should be identical to the first word in line 1 but three special
characters are missing.

Ideas anyone?

Hardware / Re: Printer - last page of print job missing...ugh?

Last page is printed OK here with GSView.

Not a solution but sometimes when a pdf-file is not printed correctly I use GSView to convert the file with pdfwrite and the newly produced pdf prints fine.

Turns out that I've been using my ISP's mailserver for outgoing mail and they don't add DKIM to the mails.
My web hosting provider adds all needed automatically to the emails so I'm using their mailserver from now on.

Sean Casey, many thanks for teaching me a lot about email settings/security.
