I have downloaded URE115.Zip from Hobbes.  I unzipped the file and found an Install program.  When I run it I am asked to put a disk into my C: drive. How have others installed URE.

I have had the same prompt from Promanaire Designer.

Thanks to Olafur Gunnlaugsson for the idea of using the demo version.
I installed it and in the install directory is a file named PDS.INI.  Inspection with the FM/2 Ini editor and it had and entry that names the install directory.

I edited PDS.INI in my Prominaire directory to name the Prominaire directory.

My testing shows that everything works as expected.
Designer is a powerful development tool.  A less powerful resource editor is URE.

I am slowly rebuilding my OS/2 development environments.

Thanks  to all for any attention you may have given this matter,

Thanks for the ideas.
I have a 3.5" floppy drive, its the disks I don't have.
Good Luck finding Matt Smith.  He was very helpful when I spoke with him, in the 1990's.

Programming / Installing Prominaire Designer
« on: April 28, 2021, 08:52:54 pm »
I own a copy of Prominaire Designer Version 5.c.  It comes on 3.5 inch disks.  Over the years I have lost the disks.  I do have a directory tree that contains a working copy of the installed product.
I also have a directory that contains the content of the install disks.

Restoring the working directory does not work as expected.  So I tried to  run the install program from its resident directory.  When I do this, the installer wants to read its filed from the A: drive.

Is there a way to make the installer work properly?

ARCAMAP says it saves the file, but when I look in the directory the file is not there.
Additionally I can not see any other servers in my workgroup.
This is all happening on a fresh install.

When my system starts I get a message box stating "Unable to load arcamap.ndc".
I do not have such a file on my system.
What is this file and where can I get a copy?
Thanks

I have just made a second attempt to donate to the Bitwise QT project.
The website is very slow, and wants all kinds of information.  Why should I have to log in to make a donation?
I can only conclude that they are daring me to give my money.
Don't worry I won't try again.  >:(

Its interesting that you were able to install it.   Was that as a widget or its own taskbar?
As a separate taskbar I have seen no corruption on my screen.  I am not sure which version of lswitcher I am using.  But I am using Panorama.

I am attempting to install all my eCS applications on my AN 5.0 partition, and I am having an issue with lswitcher widget add-on to Xcenter.  The lswitcher taskbar runs separately, but when I try to add the widget to Xcenter, lswitcher does not appear as an option.
I have added lswidget.dll, lswresen.dll and lswitch.hlp to sys\apps\xwps\xcenter\plugins and lswhook.dll to sys\dll.
Has anyone else seen this issue?

Rick:
I will be glad to help if I can.  As I said in my previous post I use Visual Age C++ V3.8 for both C and C++ development.
I have used the IBM class libraries and ObjectPM from Secant Technologies.  I don't think they are around anymore, but I did find their class libraries easy to use and fun.

Let me know how I may be of assistance.
