Hi,

I was thinking of setting up a mining pool! See attached pic for one day's of results. Note 90-99% of these projects don't work out but you never know!

What's good about Raptoreum is that it's focused on CPU mining for everyone.

There's a lot of OS/2 boxes out there with 8, 10/12 cpu showing zero activity when running OS/2 !!!

Any thoughts? Very easy to setup - How to setup on Windoz - https://youtu.be/ajXjyxre21g

--------------

Raptoreum provides a secure & fast Cryptocurrency that anybody can easily use and is building a simple to use asset platform that will allow anybody to tokenize anything (non fungible tokens) with just a few clicks.

That same platform while being simple will also be extremely flexible, powerful, and scalable.  DAPP developers will be able to utilize the asset platform and flexible smart contracts to tailor their DAPPs to their needs.

Raptoreum’s decentralization and security features allow anybody to use and build on Raptoreum with confidence.

NOTE - GhostRider is an algorithm created specifically for Raptoreum. It was built to discourage specialty hardware such as ASIC & FPGA enabling anybody to competitively mine it and increase overall decentralization.

If you have a Brother laser printer, and have not been able to print to it, even via CUPS, we have some possibly good news for you: The brlaser CUPS driver package (RPM) has recently been updated to version 6.0.0, and our port should be moving from our experimental repository to the subscription repository very soon.

Thank you,

I looked around on the forum but really didn't see anything.

Does anyone remember the best 775 motherboard at that time? I plan on running the latest ArcaOS and Linux on it.

1) I be using a Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Yorkfield Quad-Core processor with 8 GB of memory.

2) Is best to still use a X800 or X850 TX PE with SNAP accelerated. or a newer high-end card using the Panorama driver?

3) I'll only be using OS/2 and Linux (no gaming) so X850 TX PE?

And I found this on eBay for $116 is it worth it?

Applications / XWorkplace v1.0.11 beta3 installing ?
« on: November 17, 2016, 12:21:41 am »
Has anyone had install problems ?

eCS 2.2 with xWPS v1.0.10 installed (hwman10.wpi not installed).

I tried installing over and new install, but on reboot, the WPS gets caught in a loop when creating new objects.

UPDATE: on a new install of eCS 2.2 the install was good !

Make sure you have good backups !

Storage / Duplicity encrypted backups (rsync) ?
« on: October 20, 2016, 12:17:52 am »
Has anyone looked into Duplicity ?

It would be great our secure OS finally has a secure backup too !

http://duplicity.nongnu.org/index.html

What is it?

Duplicity backs directories by producing encrypted tar-format volumes and uploading them to a remote or local file server. Because duplicity uses librsync, the incremental archives are space efficient and only record the parts of files that have changed since the last backup. Because duplicity uses GnuPG to encrypt and/or sign these archives, they will be safe from spying and/or modification by the server.

REQUIREMENTS:
(is it possible?)

 * Python v2.6 or later
 * librsync v0.9.6 or later
 * GnuPG v1.x for encryption
 * python-lockfile v0.9 or later for concurrency locking
 * for scp/sftp -- python-paramiko and python-pycryptopp
 * for ftp -- lftp version 3.7.15 or later
 * Boto 2.0 or later for single-processing S3 or GCS access (default)
 * Boto 2.1.1 or later for multi-processing S3 access
 * Boto 2.7.0 or later for Glacier S3 access
 * python-urllib3 for Copy.com access

If you install from the source package, you will also need:

 * Python development files, normally found in module 'python-dev'.
 * librsync development files, normally found in module 'librsync-dev'.

Applications / RsyncBackup/2 ready for testing !

RsyncBackup/2 - easy way to setup Rsync v3.09 for OS/2.

Rsync is a fast and extraordinarily versatile file copying tool. It can copy locally, to/from another host over any remote shell, or to/from a remote rsync daemon. ... Rsync is widely used for backups and mirroring and as an improved copy command for everyday use.

Including:

- Zip backup boot partition
- Scans and auto setup of Local & Network backup of paritions
- Or use the included scripts
- Install 'DragText' for timed backups (included with eCS 2.2)

- Setup of the Rsync Server

Needs some testing and suggestions, I have it about where I want to go with it.

I'm using these parameters (any thoughts ? Post what you use please):

Code: [Select]
rsync --dry-run --archive --itemize-changes --os2-perms --stats --xattrs --delete-during --log-file=\mptn\etc\rsyncd.log E:\ E:\Programs\Apps\Backups\rBackup\Backups\Local\Partitions\E

Main folder

Local backup of partitions (auto setup)

« on: February 28, 2016, 11:21:05 pm »
MPlayer/2 & MediaPack -009 !

Media Pack started as a Rexx install script for MPlayer by Jan-Erik, now it has the ablity to install MPlayer/2 by Drag & Drop. The ability to install the MP3 codec and remove the old MMAVI class has also been added to the script.

Make MPlayer/2 the default player and prevents the second VIO window from showing.

- added advance controls to MPlayer & DVD playback
- supports mplayer-1.3.0-4.9.2.zip
- add the MP3 codec, default player for AVI files

HELP - need to add the option remove the old MOV class, anyone know how by commandline ?

Applications / Web Fonts for OS/2 ?
« on: February 26, 2016, 01:03:26 pm »
Creating a font pack for OS/2 ? What format ttf, otf, eot or woff and how ?

I was wondering how many people have 'Workplace Sans' installed ? Since it's that main font I use on my site.

Also, what other fonts have you added to OS/2, tested, tips ?

I'm testing out the support for the @font-face HTML attribute (aka downloadable Web fonts) with the new FF 38 on my site - any thoughts ?

Added to the front page only for now:

      <link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Slab:700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
      <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans+Condensed:300,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
      <link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Condensed:400,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

Roboto Condensed looks almost the same as 'Workplace Sans'

Any thoughts ?
