This callout here by Steven Levine is the KEY: you need to give us more information about the hardware, especially the BEFORE & AFTER.
Was the old config uni-processor and is the new one multi-cpu? It does NOT sound like it seeing as you have only mentioned 'motherboard replacement', but that still leaves us with a LOT of guessing.
Once you tell us more about hardware the forum participants will be in a much better position to give you specific recommendations.
For example, let's say the old box was an IDE only controller...and the new one has SATA, so which version of the driver has the capability to support the new hardware? Knowing the STAT controller/chipset would go a LOOONGGGG way to getting you an answer!

...Hopefully, you realize that unless you post some info on the old and new motherboard, you are pretty much on your own when it comes to solving your problem, even though folks here are doing their best to guess a solution.
