I'm setting-up a new Warp Server for e-Business 4.52 onto which I'm planning to install a whole host of IBM products from its time, just for a bit of fun ;D . I've got Domino 4.6, DB2 7.1, and the DominoGo WebServer which I'll install alongside.
I've run into a bit of an issue which is that apparently Domino 4.6 requires HPFS386, but my installation media for WSeB 4.52 only contain plain old fashioned HPFS.
I also happen to have a genuine boxed copy of Warp Server Advanced v4, and I know from experience that that does come with HPFS386, but I also know that's Warp 3 era code, so unlikely to be the same HPFS386 for WSeB 4.52.
I've subsequently found out that HPFS386 was apparently an add-on for WSeB, and it was sold as "386 HPFS Upgrade" with IBM part number CD6H0NA. It's actually available on BetaArchive and whilst I have a login for BetaArchive I don't have download rights :(
Does anyone here possibly have a copy of that CD that they'd be willing to either archive, donate, or sell me?
Or failing that, does anyone know any other legitimate way to get HPFS386 installed on WSeB 4.52?
Thanks!
Richard.

Replying to myself: having done a little more reading this evening I'm going to try following the steps under HPFS386 How-To from here:

I'll update this post tomorrow with progress.

Hi Richard.
If you want to add Workspace On-Demand to your list that will be great.
The lastest version of IBM WorkSpace On-Demand for OS/2 was version 2.0. I always wanted to make it run, but it never worked for me (https://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,3449.msg41372.html#msg41372). The idea would be to have one server with Wsfeb + WorkSpace On-Demand, and have one dumb workstation (thin PC) that will boot OS/2 Warp 4 desktop from the server.
Regards

Hi Richard
If still looking for hpfs386 upgrade for WSeB I have a hpfs386.zip available.
It contains files dated 1999 and 2000, readme states "386 HPFS UPGRADE FOR OS/2 WARP SERVER FOR E-BUSINESS".
Not sure where I got it from... could have been supplied by eCS or I found it on the web at some point in time. So, not sure how "legit" it is - or whether that matters these days.
Do you need/want a copy?
If "Yes" hopefully Martin will advise on whether it can be uploaded as an attachment here.
Regards
Pete

Thanks very much Remy, Pete and Martin.
I'll certainly add WorkSpace On-Demand if I can track down a copy.
Pete - if Martin allows, then I'd definitely appreciate a copy of what you have please, even if only to compare it against other sources I'm finding.
Thanks very much for everyone's help.
Richard.

Hello
I prefer not to have corporate abandonware on OS2World.com, just because I don't want to put the site on risk.
But other sites like Internet Archive (Public Library) can have more copyright flexibility according the US copyright laws.

Consider also WebSphere, as long as you have DB2 and Lotus Domino Go Webserver already.
HPFS 386 of course for completeness, but also remember JFS is already there.

WebSphere - thanks, yes, I wonder how many different webservers I'll actually be able to install! I think Domino 4.6 also comes with DominoGo, but I will also see if I can install both WebSphere and the IBM Apache HTTPd port on different TCP ports :-)
Pete - many thanks for your message!
Best,
Richard.

Getting workspace on demand setup is not an easy task. That is what at the time got Serenity Systems the OEM contract for OS/2. Kim Cheung made Wisemachine. Orginally it was made to make workspace on demand setup a drag and drop.
