Title: Installing Meson on OS/2
Post by: Mentore on December 24, 2025, 04:40:03 pm
@Dave Yeo but I feel this can be useful to other OS/2 developers here.

I just downloaded your Meson port from Github. Pretty interesting and I'm willing to try it... but:
call me old and dumb but, for the life of me, I can't fathom how to install the thing. The directory tree looks alien to me and I also can't find help on the 'net.
I'm positive you will answer me something like "just launch the install script you of course overlooked", so feel free to laugh :)

Not my port, KO Myung-Hun's port. I haven't looked at it yet.
Edit: Quickly looking, there is a setup.py and it requires Ninja, I think Paul hosts a build of Ninja or I have one if you need it. The README.md has more info, even how to create an executable, which might work on OS/2, otherwise I guess you run "python setup.py" and once installed "python meson.py".
I think I'll do a backup before trying to install it.
