Hi.
I'm doing some video streaming test and I need help to confirm some things.
Config 1 - YouTube Live / Flash / Firefox / eCS OS.
Can you please visit https://www.youtube.com/live check on the streaming ?
My reading is that is working with the latest version of Firefox that we have and the latest flash.
Config 2 - YouTube Live / NO Flash / Firefox / eCS OS.
Can you please visit https://www.youtube.com/live check on the streaming ?
My reading is that is not working.
Config 3 - VLC / eCS OS.
- Check on https://www.youtube.com/live and grab the URL of one live streaming.
- Open VLC and select "Media - Open Network Stream" and put the YouTube Live URL that you grabbed.
Check if the video works.
My reading is that VLC is working with YouTube Live.
Please let me know if you have the same results that I had or any other issue.
Regards

Thanks Sigurd. This confirms that "Config 2 - YouTube Live / NO Flash / Firefox " is not working.
Can you check if YouTube Live with VLC (Config 3 - VLC) is working for you?

H.264 is not supported in OS/2-eCS. Is this internal FF or an add-on? Flash sucks and remains Windows code, Adobe is unable to translate it to other OS'es, question is why? Backdoor politics?

Martin,
I can confirm your finding:
Config 1: works
Config 2: doesn't work
Config 3: works
Didn't view for very long (about a minute), so no idea how stable it is

Thanks.
I think that this year I will doing the Warpstock streaming on YouTube Live. Plan B will be UStream.
OS/2 users will have two options to view the event. 1) Browser with Flash and 2) VLC.
Regards.
