This advice, this information is new for me. Firefox was released in 2018, today 2025.
Why this information was not distributed among OS/2 users?
We suffer all this time.. during the last 8 years.

With the HP15C emulator, you can use the num-pad for entering numbers and operators...

I understand that you need buttons if you have Touchscreen. In this case you input expression using buttons.
But if you don't have touchscreen then you don't need the buttons. you type the expression using keyboard as text string.

How do you dial by phone today? do you use emulator of radial phone on the screen and rotate the circle to select a digit?
no, you use keyboard to type the phone number.

I don't understand how to use such calculators with buttons.
Do you really move the mouse and click every button? Use Save to Memory slot1, ..

General Discussion / Re: Brainstorm: What is Next with OS/2 ?
« on: March 29, 2025, 10:37:15 am »
memory issues:
as I understand, libc uses shared memory.
there were attempts to make it use HighMem.
There were discussions, there were announcements.
there were attempts to patch exe files to use HighMem.

But current situation: you can start Firefox and OpenOffice only 1 time.
if you load this heavy apps then memory is occupied and you should reboot system to use firefox again.
Java VM (I don't remember, does it depend on libc), is consuming low memory too.

Question: what is the current state of libc ? it was modified?

P.S. It's not a claim. I make  technical request.

To Ivan:  RPM/YUM relates to linux libraries & software only. If you don't use ported software then you never use RPM/YUM.  There was resistance to all this linux stuff in ~ 2011. But it flooded OS/2 and you can't change this. The porters need this infrastructure else they can't put everything to order.

2015 - ArcaNoae have integrated RPM/YUM to ArcaOS.
