Setup & Installation / Re: How to convert a GPT disk with Win10 to MBR

You can change a disk from a GPT to an MBR partition style as long as the disk is empty and contains no volumes.
I don't want to delete the W10 installation.

DFSee does have an option to convert GPT to MBR. But does the installed W10 still work afterwards?

From a bad experience I had, adding MBR to a GPT disk makes GPT partition unreadable.
Remember that GPT is for very large disk while MBR is for smaller disk. I suppose your windows 10 is on a large  partition, may be full disk size and above 2TB !

Using a new gigabit rj45 cable, my interface only show 100Mbps while it is Gigabit !

How are you measuring that? There is a long standing bug (probably a "feature", by now) in NETSTAT that shows gigabit speed as being 100 Mbs, when it is really 1000 Mbs.

netstat -n

This may be possible (thanks for the info) but the problem about throuput going from 45 to 135mbps is not normal. Under windows, I have a very stable 192mbps throuput during the test time (nperf) each time. (with or without IJFW, the fluctuation is the same and changing the driver, not working better.... tcp/ip ?

Hi,

Using a new gigabit rj45 cable, my interface only show 100Mbps while it is Gigabit !
Tried MMRE as well as R8189

Some interesting test with nperf compared to windows:
under windows; nperf gives a flat stable 192Mbps   (My provider limiting it to 200Mbps)
under ArcaOs (MMRE or R8189), the nperfs gives me a flutuation between 135Mbps and 45Mbps and never could get the same flat stable result as I have under windows. Any suggestion ? Is it a tcp/ip or driver buffer limitation ?
Cheers

Just to add some found information:

- A good site to test bandwide  https://www.nperf.com  the best and fastest available result
- To well tune RWIN => https://www.speedguide.net    (the given values works and if a multiple value is used as suggested, I have less slowdown.
In my case, I set the RWIN to 128480  because the max allowed into inetcfg.ini is not a multiple of MSS (MSS=1460 and MTU=1500 in my case)

I have a speed near the maximum allowed for a 100Mb connexion
The remaining problem I have is that the interface did not recognize/enable Gigabit link like windows do and refuses to go above 100Mb.
I tried to force it to be Gigabit but failled until now.

After review, it should work as before.

Please run avxcat with added parm --ffdebug
You should fin a file named FCAxxxxx.CMD  (xxxxx = some numbers) under your temp path.
In this file, you should find commands from  owncmd.txt  in the batch file with 'B' located before the ffmpeg call and 'A' after it.
If found, add followng string      copy_metadata=""      under line   more_map=""
also change the line as suggested into last 2 comments line (just correct temp path name) and run this batch after removing the 2 last 'exit'  in an OS2 windows and check when it hangs or for any other error messages. If it hangs during this test, the problem could be within ffmpeg and if it looks so, try to use the previous ffmpeg e.g. 3.3.1 your propably already used and give a new try using this rexx batch pgm.

Note: Latest AVxCAT is compatible with previous ffmpeg builds

Applications / Re: About bldlevel
« on: September 07, 2019, 01:10:41 am »
Hi

I have some questions related to the bldlevel command.

1) Do you know some other tools that allows me to see/extract the bldlevel information from files beside bldlevel.exe?

2) Is there any way to include the bldlevel information to an executable that does not have it? Can it only be done while compiling the binary? or can it be applied to binary where you don't have the source code.

Regards

Just use AddToFile.cmd from David Azarewicz
https://88watts.net/software.html

Hi,

Many thanks, this option to find and download "necessary packages" was added into the latest build.
Since this update, the "program description" on the left side is now "centered" in the left part of the parameters window instead of right adjusted as before.

Best regards

For your information:

ClamAV WG (CLDWATCH.EXE) uses following parms:

ClamAVGUI_path beep(on/off) cdbasepath maxold gatewaytrack(IJFW)
e.g. beepon > do beep in case of status change
e.g. maxold=1 = 1 day
e.g. gatewaytrack=1 -> IJFW installed

CLDWATCH.EXE and CLAMW.EXE work together.
CLAMW.EXE can be used used without CLDWATCH but it needs to be drived by an other status detection tool.

FYI: AVxCAT was updated too this month

Just to avoid confusion, like Dave Yeo mentioned, there are;

https://falcon-browser.jaleco.com/

and

https://www.falkon.org/

Believe Falkon (with 'k') is the one likely to be ported.

Right, I realy mean falkon
