Hardware / usbdrv233
« on: March 25, 2020, 12:24:17 am »
I installed usbdrv233 and rebooted and noticed I no longer had access to my removable USB drives.  The clue was the "an removable media monitor" disappeared.  This has happened before.  The problem is the new usbcalls.dll.  When I copy ver 3.32 usbcalls.dll over the 3.33 version and reboot, the removable media monitor is back and my usb drives are recognized.

if you were to boot in the OS2 config that would actually produce a valid output.

nope.  I got the same output with OS/2 config too.

I am getting the table is broken with with the os/2 config.

David,
I had a couple of VR messages pop up here and there (can't recall if they matched the exact code you're seeing though), but luckily never resulting in a major catastrophe.

You could certainly add '/deb' to the command line and look to see what anpm.dbg file contains. There may be enough there to tell you where things are going wrong.

Hi Darciusz

This is only the second time this has happened.  The first time was on another partition.  However, now that I know how to recover by installing a previous WPS archive, I will not pursue the matter.  Thanks for the suggestion though.  Maybe this will help someone else if it ever happens to them.

I changed POP in Receive to IMAP.  It downloaded the inbox folder with no problem.  It still did not try to download the Archive folder to my PMMail archive folder

Amazing. PMMail does not know about IMAP.

I havent PMMAIL installed but to see remote folders, you should connect using IMAP while POP3 generally gets inbox email only.
- imap  (no email locally saved except if you do it)
- pop (locally saved email)

I changed POP in Receive to IMAP.  It downloaded the inbox folder with no problem.  It still did not try to download the Archive folder to my PMMail archive folder.

I would like to compliment Neil, Doug, and Gregg on the new improvements.  It is working great.  The new setting pages look good..

I have one question.  On my Yahoo ATT email server, I created a folder called Archive.  I put all my important emails in so they don't get deleted.  I created a folder in PMMail called Archive.  How do I get PMMail to download the archive to my PMMail archive folder?

Applications / YUM
« on: March 22, 2020, 03:27:32 pm »
I was adding a RPM package (lzlib) when all the sudden I received a VX-REXX error code 009,  This has happened before.  When it happens, all the installed and uninstalled packages disappear from YUM.  I could not get them to show again.  The first time it happened, I reinstalled ArcaOS to get YUM working again.  This time, I  tried installing an archived desktop.  The archive worked and brought all the packages back to YUM.  I could see them again.  It also eliminated the error messages.

When this error happens, it continues to happen.  Anytime YUM is started, I continue to get this error code.

Has anyone else seen this?

This machine must use the old OS/2 boot loader.  Is the machine making to the old OS/2 boot loader menu?  If not, and if they had one installation CD, could they possibly start the install and get to the setup screen, install the old os/2 boot manager, reboot and take the cd out while it is rebooting and see if the boot manager menu appears.

Also, it has been awhile but do they have one hard drive set as master and the other to slave with the jumpers?

I cleaned up the isodrive icon that comes with the program.  I made the 32x32 and 40x40 icons larger and did away with the white edges around those two icons.  I also created a 20x20 and a 16x16 icon which was not includee in the isodrive icon.

My problem with the cloud is that one is storing their personal and business information on someone else's server.    I want none of my info on anyone else's computer but my own, even if it is more work to do so.

So has everyone received their d/l notification email automatically?

I paid for AOO a few years back, auto-notifcation emails never come, I usually have to struggle to figure out whom to contact...and yeah, that web-site is pretty poor to the extent that nowhere on there are you actually going to find that magic "email address" which they politely ask you to direct your email in case you did not receive the d/l notification...

Dariusz, it appears you are correct in that there is no obvious way to contact them if you did not receive your auto-notification.

What do you mean by commenting?  Are you talking about remming out the statement?

The fix worked.  Hwmanager is now working great with ArcaOS's 32 bit USB drivers.

Hardware Explorer 0.0.5 ?

Yes, it works fine.
