I think this is really cool.  8) (in a nerdy sort of way).  ;D

This is one tiny computer.  8) It indicates that one can run Linux on it. I wonder if it can run other operating systems? It indicates it is for wearable computers. I think it could be one very tiny server.

I think one could make an even smaller server than the previous record holder.

Polls / If there was a plush mascot for eComStation, would you buy it?
« on: December 17, 2013, 04:38:57 pm »
I noticed that Mensys was selling the Linux mascot penguin. I was wondering if there was an interest in an eCS plush mascot.  8)

It has an Intel processor and one can get the barebones version. The price seems reasonable. Can one install eCS on it?

It is nice to be able to get a computer without having to pay for an operating system one is not planning to use.

Hardware / 86Duino ZERO x86 Arduino and eCS?
« on: December 10, 2013, 05:11:05 pm »
http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/86duino-zero-x86-arduino-development-board-available-for-40-10-12-2013/
Since it can support Windows and Linux, could it (at least in theory) run eComStation?

It indicates it costs $40.

'The 86Duino ZERO x86 Arduino development board is open source hardware and supports DOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems and is fully compatible with Arduino IDE and the Arduino “Leonardo” form factor.'

General Discussion / Zotac launches ZBOX nano AQ01 mini-PC with AMD Kabini

I like how it does not come with an operating system. I dislike having to pay for one if I am only going to overwrite it with another.

I wonder if one could put an eCS logo on top of it?  8)

It indicates it has space for a 2.5 inch hard drive or solid state drive and has an AMD quad core cpu.

General Discussion / How long does it take?
« on: November 22, 2013, 05:44:12 pm »
I bought eComStation 2.1. I received an e-mail that I would get an e-mail with 48 hours for the registration key. This was 11-15-2013. As of 11-21-2013, I have not received anything. How long does it normally take? I sent them an e-mail about it last night and am hoping for a reply.  8)

I think it gives new meaning to 'sleeping with the fishes'.  ::)  I think it would be cool to stay there for a night (can not really afford one night).  8)

Hardware / eCS 2.2 beta demo on Acer Aspire One?
« on: November 15, 2013, 05:44:36 pm »
I have an Acer Aspire One with an USB cd-rom drive. I am trying the eCS 2.2 beta demo cd (downloaded and created the demo cd). It gets to a point and shows 'Insert eComStation Demo CD and press any key. If the CD is already inserted, try modifying the storage driver settings in the CD boot menu'. Does anyone have any recommendations on this? What settings do I change? I will see what I can change to get it to work.

Hardware / eCS on an Acer Aspire One?
« on: October 10, 2013, 06:33:46 pm »
I have an Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter on it. It has an Intel Atom N455 (1.66 GHZ, 512 KB cache), 1 GB DDR3 memory, and 250 GB HDD. Can I install eCS 2.0 on it or should I wait for eCS 2.2? I have an external USB cd-rom drive to install it from.  8)
