Games / Re: Quarantine Gaming !! - Dev/Port Help
« on: March 31, 2020, 04:14:13 pm »
I'm here in Hamburg, Germany since 2020-03-20, 1.5 weeks ago, but it's also my third week.

I just say 'Hello', because I don't like gaming. I'm coding instead.

Looking now, it looks like a typo in the requirements and should be looking for poppler84.dll.
You probably mean popple84.dll. OS/2 DLLs need to comply with the 8.3 naming scheme. But why shouldn't popple94.dll work?

In cases like that it's the best idea to export the packages list, wipe the dirs and reinstall everything.

Probably not related: I ran two times into serious problems, both caused by simple package updates. The first one is months ago and the last one just a few days:

ANPM refers to continue before rebooting each time I try to run update. The output of yum shows more:

Good.

True, but more important is the decision of each person: Please avoid to travel! Please help to get the movements down to a minimum. Stay at home! Limit shopping to the absolute necessary!

Forget about holidays this year. The current situation is serious, but we all can help to shorten the time the disease takes away our freedom!

Programming / Re: Observing if a program uses vio calls
« on: March 09, 2020, 01:34:23 am »
What about if a program pipes output, something like "dir | tee dir.log"? or input, "\usr\bin\patch.exe < foo.patch"?
Both already work with EPM. The current discussion is about VIO apps that don't use STDOUT or STDERROR but use VIO functions to write something in the console. Unfortunately there exist a few.

BTW: I don't see the necessity to support these cases, even against the background that there exist a few famous .exes and REXX .cmds that use VIO functions to write to the console or to place the cursor.

BTW: EPM produces this output:

Code: [Select]
epm: D:\ > dir |more
SYS0436: An invalid VIO handle was found.
SYS1805: The process tried to write to a nonexistent pipe.

I'm open to suggestions on what to read and what to check. On the main site (Joomla - /cms) I see myself logged, and I haven't re-logged in a week.
Interesting. Apparently you (and most likely Ian as well) are the only persons, for them cookies work. It might have to do with admin permissions.

Hi Martin,

session cookies work since yesterday, regarding the login state. Until I close the browser, I have to log in only once.
Since yesterday, cookies won't keep me logged in on the main site per session anymore.

Download of usbdrv233.zip from Hobbes incoming works. For a special OS/2 Mozilla version, you have to Ctrl+drag the https link to a local folder. Trying to save it via context menu won't work for the combination Hobbes and that OS/2 Mozilla version.

You can also use this link: Hobbes incoming.

Then the usbdrv233.txt file gets visible. Download works as well, but it has 0 B.

About the rename option in incoming: That used to work only within a limited time frame, I seem to remember that was a few hours only. Note that the browse, download and upload facilities are currently being worked on, as Martin already wrote. If you have already written an email to the maintainer, that's all you can do for now. He usually answers.

When I try to connect to the address shown in the email received when I signed up, I always receive the same response: "APPLICATION ERROR #1901 - The confirmation URL is invalid or has already been used. Please signup again."
I would try to login with the email address without the @-char and the server name after it as login name. That was the problem in many cases. If that still won't work, write an email to AN.

VNC doesn't provide encryption. Therefore you should use VNC over the Web only via an encrypted connection, like VPN.
