It gets better and better ;-)
Thank you very much, David.

No, the 5100 is not whitelisted on a T420 with a vanilla BIOS, that's why I added the patched BIOS requirement for the half-size slot.
Follow the link in the Thinkwiki. There you will find the correct BIOS with whitelisting turned off (and some other enhancements like RAM speed).

AFAIK, the full size slot is where normally the WWAN card would go. But I never had one, so I can't help you with the SIM location.

I bought the 5100 used on eBay.
You can try to swap the 4965, but be prepared that the BIOS complains, if you install it in the half-size slot under the keyboard.
AFAIK, the full size slot doesn't get checked, but then again you are blocked from installing eg. an SSD.

I made a new release with David's new icons. Thanks again, David.
We have a new feature:
Quote
New Drive type: overlay.

When active, this drive redirects new and changed files to a different location.
The files in the overlay and normal drive are merged on startup and kept up to date when the game changes something.
Files in the overlay are priotizedi, if they exists, above the normal files.
The drive will switch to an overlayed version of the file on the first write! (Not when opening the file in write-mode).
The overlay is capable of creating missing directories.

With the help of DBOVERLAY files, the drive keeps track of files that are present in the normal directory but deleted by the game.
All changes are preserved between sessions.

Current design principles/limitations/requirements:
1) All directories that can be used for saving, must exist already in the base before mounting. (they will be created by DOSBox if missing in the overlay)
2) All filenames inside the overlay directories are UPPERCASE and conform to the 8.3 standard except for the special DBOVERLAY files.
3) To keep point 1 valid at all times, support for creating/renaming/removing directories has been disabled.

Thanks for the help GOG.

Have fun

It does, when you use the half-size slot and only use the original BIOS: The BIOS loudly complains and doesn't let you start the computer.
That's why I wrote, that you need the patched BIOS.
For the full size slot, you don't need that, but then again you lose the ability to use a SSD there.

How to get the Intel 5100 Wifi working in the T420.

1.) If you want to replace non-working standard Wifi-Card in the mini PCI slot under the keyboard, only buy a half-size 5100.
2.) If you want to use the half-size slot, you have to patch the BIOS.
a.) Install the newest BIOS (as of now 1.56)
b.) Install the corresponding patched BIOS (Google it) EDIT: The patched BIOS needs the check for the Wifi white list removed.
3.) Install the card under keyboard in the half-size slot or in the full-size slot.
4.) If you have a Linux live cd, test the installation. Normally, it should work out of the box.
5.) Download the test package of the Intel test package from here: https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/GenMU.
6.) Rename the driver names  WRAPPER_8086_4232 from NETW5X32.* to NETW4X32.*
7.) Reboot and configure your network.

For me, that installation just works fine without fuss. (Except that the wired network doesn't seem to work anymore, but that doesn't bother me at the moment.

Can somebody please help me with David's excellent icons? I don't know how to convert the PNG into an ICO file.
What's the best way to do this?

Nice. Can I use them for the Warpin-Package?

Anything I post, anyone is free to do as they please with them.
How should I attribute you?

Hi

I really hope that libcn0 get from the experimental repo to the standard repo soon, since it was already launched and announced to the public. I think it will be good to use libcn0 since it what bitwise are going to focuse from now on.

Just in case, to configure the netlabs-exp repository it is required "yum install netlabs-exp"

Regards
Yeah, I know. But that's explicitely not what I want. It should work with a default installation of OS/2.
If the new libc is officially out, I will pick it up.

Also, I have uploaded a corrected version of the package.

Oh, I deactivated the experimental repo, but obviously I still have the dependency installed. I will downgrade libc and rebuilt the package.

Does that mean, we can use Chrome/Chromium in the future?

You should definitely skip the disk test.

No, you shouldn't.
If I have no access to the disks anyway, then, no, I don't need it.
My advice was by no means an general advice, just for the problem, discussed here.
