I could boot the laptop up, but it took a really long time. You should definitely skip the disk test.

I you want it fixed I suggest you open a ticket at Arca Noae,
Which had me heading into a massive CATCH-22, because when I had the issue on a laptop, I had no access to mass storage whatsoever  (and no network), so I couldn't save the ACPI log.
This is obviously not the fault of Arcanoae, but be prepared that the ticket could be leading nowhere, if you don't have the means to offload the log file.

The same can be said of DLLs ;-)

HP Color Laser Jet Pro M477fdw works with a pscript driver supplied with ArcaOS/eCS.
Do you use any Postscript driver, or a special one?

Article Discussions / Re: Sponsorship needed for new OS/2 web browser

As far as I know, having a newer QT won't help with porting Chromium (the open source part of Chrome) to OS/2 porting Chromium would be a huge job.
I looked into the build process, and Chromium uses the whole GTK enchilada. Which would be a worthwhile purpose in itself.

Even on Windows?
Yes, having GTK ported would open up a lot of other ports.
At least on X Windows. But it definitely doesn't use Qt.

I suggest to talk to Dmitriy Kuminov about the implementation in libcx.
How?

Edit: I meant, how can I contact him?

Hey Jochen,

I don't think that multitail opens sockets, it just observes some files.
Check for pipe() usage - klibc select() won't work on a pipe()'d socket - replace pipe with socketpair....

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for the hints.
I think, I will need to reimplement that part of multitail. So, I need some hints, which OS/2 APIs are required.
But I also will look at klibc source.

I should have stated that my setup relies on YUM.
Yes, I used the libcx version of poll, but that also doesn't work.
If EMX had a better version, perhaps I should look into the sources to get some hints.

That explains a lot.
Do we have an OS/2 API for something like this?

Programming / poll() and select()
« on: June 23, 2017, 09:58:10 pm »
I'm trying to port multitail, but it seems that select() as well as poll() doesn't seem to work.
I have attached my test programs, which both should work. Both  return with EINVAL.
So, am I missing something or is the OS/2 implementation buggy?
Can somebody point me to some already ported code, which uses poll or select?

Yes, Testdisk is a great tool and is included in most WinPE distros, I saw.

Can you try to use the ACPI parameter /VW in the installer setup?
For me, it did the trick.
