Applications / Re: Java applications Jedit 5.1.0
« on: August 12, 2013, 02:30:15 am »
It was my fault posting this news. I was checking the updated Java apps for OS/2-eCS.

I tested Jedit 5.1.0,  the installer run fine and the application seemed to run fine with "java -jar jedit.jar".

But when trying to open a file I find out about the error.

I get an:

Quote
The following I/O operation could not be completed:

X:\PROGRAMS\JEDIT\X:\PROGRAMS\JEDIT\X:\HOME\DEFAULT\:
Cannot list directory.

And I can not change the directory to open a file.

Here it is the command prompt

Quote
[X:\PROGRAMS\JEDIT]java -jar jedit.jar
7:11:33 PM [main] [warning] jEdit: initPLAF failed to set required l&f
7:11:36 PM [main] [warning] jEdit: initPLAF failed to set required l&f
7:16:40 PM [jEdit Worker #1] [error] ErrorListDialog$ErrorEntry: X:\PROGRAMS\JED
IT\X:\PROGRAMS\JEDIT\X:\HOME\DEFAULT\:
7:16:40 PM [jEdit Worker #1] [error] ErrorListDialog$ErrorEntry: Cannot list dir
ectory.

Like Joop said, it seems that JEdit is getting crazy with OS/2-eCS paths.

Regards.

Hi

Please, backup everything first, especially if this is a production enviroment.

On the "OS/2 System" folder there is another folder called "OS/2 Warp Connect Install/Remove".

Inside that folder you can try "Warp Connect Selective Install for Networking".

Regards.

Hi

Can you give a little more information about the OS/2 version you are using? On the command prompt run "ver /r" to see the revision of the OS/2 Warp 3 you are using.

Regards.

Hi Greggory

I will also like to invite you to write some lines about MPlayer and OS/2 on the OS2World.com/wiki
It uses the same userid/password of this forum.

Martin

It runs with a "Intel Atom D2500 dual-core " processor, so my first guess is that it may run on it. But you never know which other components does it has.

Hi Greggory.

I recovered an old backup of the forum and it is available here:

http://www.os2world.com/oldforum/index.php?topic=994.msg24136#msg24136

Please notice that the old recovered forum is only for backup, is read only and does not have the attachments stored.

Michael Rydberg wrote me back, I asked him if it can be possible to open source their software but I haven't get a reply in a couple weeks.

I will check if I can found a name on the "Syntegration" software.

Thanks Guzzi.

I talked to a person at "Hermanson Enterprises". He told me that the person I'm looking for is "Michael Rydberg" which is a friend of him. I gave him my name, e-mail and phone number to see if he can contact me back.

Let's see what happens.

I tried the phone and seems disconected. Skype/Google Talk don't even try to ring it.

Hi Jan.

Yes, I tried mvsoft@ibm.net but it is no longer working. That's why I'm trying to find a name related to the companies to try to track the person.

Hi Jan, I just asked Kim Ludvigsen.

He is not the author and don't know about that software.

Any other tips are welcome.

Hi Neils

Try the RPM

yum install openssl curl libjpeg libxslt libicu zlib libxml2 stdcpp mmap pthread urpo gcc-stdc++-shared-library

then try

yum install libc

I got some problems installing GCC with YUM, I thought it was only my specific problem, so I skipped that install.  But once I installed the rest of components OpenOffice worked fine here.

Hi

I'm trying to get the names of the developers/owners of this two Workplace shell security software, but it is very hard to get the names behind the two companies. If anybody know the owners or people that used to work there please let me know.

The software are:

The Secure Workplace by Syntegration
and
Workplace Security by Maple Valley Software

Hi Ian

I'm registered to those emails too, but I see the unsubscribe link working ok. It takes me to an "Account Management" page and gives me option to remove the subscription.

Can you try it again? Maybe it was something temporal.
