Applications / Re: DOSBox Issue - STDCPP6?
« on: May 24, 2020, 09:00:25 am »
I have to correct myself: my problem was not having this sigserv message, it was that dosbox only starts once, if at all, but never for a second time. Most times (99%) the program window appeared with no message, only a black screen,  and freezed the system.

It is resolved with the sdl.dlls as I described. I was misleaded because I had this STDCPP6 message in popuplog, that was mentoined in this thread here as well. Anyway, sorry.

Had the same issue, resolved it by only replacing the SDL.DLLs with those from Version

SDL-1215-20160303.zip

Have not seen any sideeffects on other appplications so far.

This is what popuplog looked like before:

Hi,

thanks for your replies and thoughts! After reading this and those from the os2.org forum, Thomas and me decided to keep the User meeting as it is, so it will be the same as the 7 times before, only on Saturday with German as language. Thanks again and all the best!!

Sigurd

Hi Sigurd

I certainly hope that the corona virus problem has been resolved before December - hopefully long before.

The idea to combine Warpstock 2020 with your event sounds like a good idea to me but I think you probably need to contact Roderick at os2voice directly to discuss the possibility.

Regards

Pete

Hi Pete,

Yes, but I guess he will read here as well.

Hi,

each year since 2013 Thomas Müller and me organize the anual OS/2 User Meeting in Cologne. This yeat it is scheduled for December, the 12th 2020.

Because of the Corona Virus the planned Warpstrock Europe 2020 in May in Frankfurt has been cancelled.

So Thomas Müller and me thougt we may combine thes two events this December in Cologne.

We are aware and it is completly clear to us that no one knows what will be the situation like then because of the Corona Virus in December.

But we asked at the Youth Hostel in Cologne and it would be possible to reserve the room for Friday, the 11th of December as well. We would organize the event as well, but it may be not that high quality as former Warpstock Europe.

What are your thoughts?

We are in a very early stage of this idea and want to collect opinions and pro and contras from YOU!

So what is your opinion, have your say, please. Thank you very much.

We would extend the meeting up to two days, so

instead of only 12th of Decmeber the event would take place on two days, 11th and 12th of December.

Thanks for sharing your opinion!!

We wish you, despite all problems, happy Easter!

Thomas and Sigurd

Once you have no ecomstation CD 2:Everything you Need is here, and yes, it does work. Thanks to Alex Taylor.

https://comp.os.os2.apps.narkive.com/rDbQf0ev/re-install-works

And this way you can get all the saldy cut Supplements like Bonuspac, Warpguide etc etc from Warp 4.

If you have the ecs cd2, it is better to use that like Roderick stated.

Japanese indeed! : ) - Would be a nice collectable. *__*
I definitely need more space to store all these... :>

Btw.. anybody know what THIS is?

Internal:

- Click

Question is also... due to the weird form "factor" of that CD.... is it safe to put that into a production drive? ; )

Moderator's Note: Fixed hyperlink

In fact there have been at least two Volumes of this No Limit! CDs, both of them have been sent to me by IBM as a registered Warp User in 1996, if I remember correctly.

It was one of the attempts to Show Users that there are at least some OS/2 Applications und Supplements around, to have something to Show in the Competition with Windows 95.
EDIT: Volume 1 in 1995 and Volume 2 early 1996, both before Warp 4 arrived.
Both of them are still in good shape. I guess Volume 2 was build to have wholes where there is no Colour on the CD as well, but due to Users reporting Problems with Volume 1 in CD Drives with more than 4X Speed the cancelled the cut process, I guess.

Hi Martin, Sigurd,

Since the webcam is working with my UVC Webcam Support for OS/2 programs (WebSee),  I expect it to work with my "UVC Microscope Viewer for OS2 (UvcScope) too.
These programs use the USBCALLS interface i.e. USBECD is not used. Isochronous Transfers are only used by the webam i.e. not used for pen and touch support.

Wim.

Thank you very much for the clarification, Wim - and sorry for my misleading information!!

Addition to your Wiki pages:

I have got:

- 20DK (not DL)
- Intel core i7-5600U CPU (not i5)
- Release year is 2014/2015 (not 2013, in 2013 there have been the first generation of S1 Yoga, with the 4.th Intel core-i Generation)

Hope this helps

Hi Martin,

here the answers I can give you right now:

- first of all: substitute the ArcaOS USB drivers with those from Lars Erdmann (Version 232)

- Webcam running then out of the box with Wim Bruls Websee Driver

- Stylus started a few moments ago working thanks to Wim Brul!
(Do not forget the Pre required drivers: USBECD, XSMOUSE from Wim Brul and the according settings)
  - Single tap with the Stylus = Left Mouse Button click
  - Pressing the Button on the Stylus = Right Mouse Button click
  - Single tap with the stylus while pressing the Button on the Stylus = Left+Right Mouse Button click

- Writing with the Stylus in Jarnal = no problem works like a charm!

- USB 3.0 -> the machine has it, but I disabled it in BIOS so the work as USB 2.0

Your other questions: I will come back to this later.

Thanks for all your work, and adding it to the wiki!!!

All credit goes to Wim Brul, he will have a look into Touch support next, when his time permits.
