Hi Joop

On this Netbeans page you have a dead link to "netbeans-7.3.1-netbeans-7.3.1-201306052037-javase.zip"
I found this one working:

I followed your instructions, and I was sure to get the full "openjdk6_b27_sdk_os2_ga5-20130217.zip" on C:\PROGRAMS\OPENJDK

1) I don't know if deleting the "Locale" files are mandatory or optional, since just in case I want to keep the spanish things there.

2) I got this issue
Quote
[C:\netbeans\bin]netbeans.cmd --os2-install

[C:\netbeans]i:\utils\unzip -n C:\netbeans\nb\nbos2icons.zip -d C:\var\temp
SYS0015: The system cannot find the specified drive.
'NetBeans 7.3.1' folder created.
'NetBeans IDE 7.3.1' program object created.
'NetBeans Home' URL object created.
'NetBeans 7.3.1 README' URL object created.
'NetBeans 7.3.1 CREDITS' URL object created.
'NetBeans 7.3.1 Release Notes' URL object created.
SYS0002: The system cannot find the file specified.
SYS0002: The system cannot find the file specified.
SYS0002: The system cannot find the file specified.

It is because "i:\utils\unzip" is not in that location for me.  Easy fix, I fixed and worked.

3) I run the recently created "NetBeans IDE 7.3.1" inside the folder on the desktop.  It runs for a little while and stops.
Where can I get more info or log of what happened ?

If I run it by command line I get:
Quote
[C:\NETBEANS\BIN]netbeans.cmd
C:\NETBEANS
C:\NETBEANS\platform\lib
SYS1065: The input line is too long.

That's the same file, different source.

1) I don't know if deleting the "Locale" files are mandatory or optional, since just in case I want to keep the spanish things there.
I got problems with that the command line did grow beyond what's the maximum size, so I got errors. If you look at the locale files then a lot can go because you probably never compile a program for that particular language. After done that I could run the program and I did compile something like "Hello world" or so.

[C:\netbeans]i:\utils\unzip -n C:\netbeans\nb\nbos2icons.zip -d C:\var\temp
You always have to check my cmd files because no one has the same setup in OS//2.

Netbeans changed the way everything is called later on, but those versions are not for us unless we get a new release of Java with a much higher version, even 11 is running out of date.

Strange, same version? All scripts on my website are tested on my own machine. Are you sure you have the last two lines as one in your  script? You can try to set everything in one directory, Current I'm not on my OS/2 machine, if I am I will look what I did. I was on the site, may be the version is too high, you need a higher version of Java for the last versions.

After a download of what's available today it turned out to be a totally other construct of the zip file. Besides that, even if I would set that strait it will not run because it needs at least Java 8. So this is what I did  8). Turned on my OS/2 computer and updated the pages with my own downloads. My up and download system is not depended on the browser. If you now go to the page you can download my downloaded version from back then. Also tried to find out if the downloads are more wider spread then the page of the Rigim owner and it did not. So there are now two pages where you can download Rigim, on the site of the owner which needs Java 8 or higher or my page which runs happily with Java 6. Up to you ::).

After the problem with Regim I want to point out that I have all programs on my system as original download (most of them). So if you run into trouble make a mark.

Ok, I got an older regim.zip from the Archive.org and it worked.

Hi Joop.

Seems that the author removed the binaries and only left the source code of GoGUI:
- http://sourceforge.net/projects/gogui/files/gogui/1.4.9/gogui-1.4.9.zip/download

By any change do you still have the "gogui-1.4.9.zip" file around?

Hi

Any idea if BJTutor (BlackJack Tutor) can run with OpenJDK 1.6.

I'm trying:

Any idea if it can be run, just for the fun of it.

I have tested the zip. When you have such problems you can do a few things. One of them is to rename the main file to a proper java name, in this case there was no extension ".jar". Next don't follow what's inside the readme. So I tried with java -jar bjtutor.jar. When you do that you get  other comments back from java. In this case that the file is corrupt. Next rename it to a zip and try to unzip it. Not much in the file, but you can check on illegal activities like "eti is phone home". So I deleted the files and directory from my system, case closed. There is however a working BlackJack on my homepage, you can find it under "games". Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Thanks a lot for the feedback Joop.

I really was not aware that BJTutor (BlackJack Tutor) was corrupted, I thought it was my Java loading skills failing.
Too bad, if it is corrupt, it's corrupt. If I ever find a good version I will try it out.

Hi Joop

The Geogebra download link is not working: https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e33.htm
Sadly I was not able to find the GeoGebra-Unixlike-Installer-4.4.42.0.tar.gz file.

I can not also find JClic version that you have: https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e79.htm

Please let me know if you still have a copy arround.

Hi Joop

The Geogebra download link is not working: https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e33.htm
Sadly I was not able to find the GeoGebra-Unixlike-Installer-4.4.42.0.tar.gz file.
Website moved, versions are unclear if it will work with Java 6. Packages are split up to stand alone apps. Classic is still available, of course also higher version numbers. Have to think it over what to do, probably best is to upload my version, but have to see if this is allowed.

I can not also find JClic version that you have: https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e79.htm
JClic also has an other home, its still there, version just minor upgrade.

Please let me know if you still have a copy arround.
I have all copies on my system.
