Hello

I have an issue with DynamicIcons (aka BigIcons). I enable it by:
- SET BIGICONSPATH=
- Going to "System Setup -> Workplace Shell -> Icon Size tab -> "Use Custom Icons"

Now the issue: I like the PNG icon themes, I want to keep it, but it blocks me from seeing the .ICO on the desktop. I'm attaching the after and before pics.
Is there a way to disable just the display of the .ICO PNG Image so I can keep seeing the actual .ICO on the desktop?

Yeah, I know, you can't make the entire world happy  ;D ;D

Hello. I think I found the answer myself.

I just removed ""*.ico"                "image_file_80.png"" from the bigicons.txt file, rebooted and good to go.

Make another Orange System Setup folder theme which can be used to replace an existing theme inside the main BigIcons theme folders.

This can be done for individual folders.

Open the folder that contains the OS/2 icons.
Right click inside the folder (white empty space) to bring up the menu.
Select Icons
Select Normal.

This overrides the system default for that folder.

A new theme called Neon Draw.  Similar to the Draw theme, but is multicolored.

I call this new theme Shades of Color.

This is probably it for themes unless I get another wild idea.  I believe people have plenty of choices now.  Again I thank Rich for suggesting I look at the bigicons.  When I get time, I may package up the remaining options icons.  Time for a a break for a few days.

I am playing around with an old Linux theme called Umicoms to see if is possible to convert to an Arcaos theme.  I may never finish, but time will tell. Do to the darker colors, it would probably need to be run at larger png size.

See the above pics.

I have uploaded the Umicons bigicons theme.

Umicons was created 15 years ago and last updated 4 years ago.
Original icons were created by www.mattaham.com  circa 2003

Most of these icons I modified or created to work with our schemes.

I did not change all the system icons.  What little  I did was a huge undertaking.

Here is the new drawingboard theme based on the MacOS 9 theme.

Its icons are now PNGs instead of OS/2 icons.  I had to recreate lots of icons.  The icons now look good at even the larger viewing sizes.

Tried to give the program folder icons more of an earlier time look to go with the theme.

Only added a few program PNGs to the theme.  I figured the OS/2 program icons go more with this theme.  The ones I replaced either did not have an icon or the OS/2 icons looked bad at the larger viewing sizes.

Added a little cog to the setup folder icons to let people know these icons are for making system changes.

Theme contains subfolders which contain background, button, and titlebar bmps which will have to be manually copied to the appropriate folders.

backgrounds  bmps to      > drive:\os2\bitmap
button to                               > drive:\sys\apps\styler\bitmap\button
tbkggnds to                          >drive:\sys\apps\styler\bitmap\tbkgnds

Everyone's evil villainous weasel now peeks out of trashcan to full spying on you.
